Among the people who follow PDP, I've never been disappointed in anyone I've met - and last evening made no exception. I did have a great evening - and I'm sure everybody did. I know you're dying to know more, but you're going to have to wait a little bit because right now I'm half dead and I need to get some sleep. I hope this photo will keep you waiting... (Besides, it's worth the wait, as I not only have tons of photos, but also videos). I LOVE you pdpers! Update. See who is who on the making of.
Merci. Lynn - WAKE UP.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!! What a fabulous photo of everyone!! Thank you SO MUCH Eric for staying up to post. You'll be hearing more from the SF picnic soon!!
ReplyDeleteKatie: "You'll be hearing more from the SF picnic soon!!" I surely hope so!
ReplyDeleteEric, WE LOVE YOU TOO!!!!
ReplyDelete'pdpers'? Nice one. The photo is really good, we seem to be happy. We were. I was.
So 'pdpers' (our new nickname) will you recognize all the people?...
I recognize Guille, Michael, Jeff, I think and of course Eric. Wait, is that a bottle of Pepsi I see??
ReplyDeleteDidn't someone say that everyone would be sayinng "I love you".
ReplyDeleteMichel!!! (I still have your gargoyle picture, you know, thank you so much for that!!!)
ReplyDeletePatricia!!!
Jeff!!!
Michael!!!
Eric!!!
I don't know the others, do I? Anyway, it looks like it was a good turn-out, and I sure am glad that the lady with the pale green sweater didn't fall into the water. She looks real close and with her back turned.. hmmm...
By the way, thank you very much Madonna, for taking the shot!
I had a great time, I met great people from all over the world, that's the magic of the yearly Pdp's picnic, that's the magic of Paris ;-))))))
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Eric !!!!!!
Oh, I wish I could have been there - and not ONLY because that would being in Paris. I haven't been in Paris since 1985. So glad fun was had by all :)
ReplyDeleteAnd what a lovely, friendly, happy bunch you are! In return, and in lieu of actually being there, I've posted a photo of myself at my blog, so that (should you choose to) you can put a face to my (until how) visage-less name. I'm only sorry it's not a better picture - or, for that matter, a better face: the first I take full responsibility for, but the second I have no control over - apart, that is, from the odd smile, quizzical squint, or puzzled frown that graces it from time to time.
ReplyDeleteÀ votre santé, mes amis!
I'm guessing Madonna took the photograph! (Or is she there somewhere in the back?)
ReplyDeleteMaybe next year!
P
Sunshine Coast Daily - Australia
It looks like you all had a WONDERFUL time!! And such gorgeous weather. I hope that everyone had a great time and a great meal with lots of fun!!
ReplyDelete(hopefully I'll be able to join you one of these years!)
Eric, What a fabulous event and following you have! I will surely try my best to make it next year - my goal is to get to Paris during all the seasons so I still have Spring, Summer and Winter to go! Can't wait to see some of the other photos and video.
ReplyDeleteMerci, merci, merci!
Nikki - Vancouver, BC
...sigh
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous! But, it looks like such a fun time, such a beautiful day and such a great group. I am marking my calendar for next year!
PS Scroll down. I'm not the reanimated cadaver of Charles Baudelaire.
ReplyDeleteNikki: I would strongly advise *against* going to Paris in the summer, if you can help it. In my opinion, it's too hot, everything is closed, and the City is overtaken by tourists.
ReplyDeleteOf course, if you want to see Paris Plage, the 14th of July defile on the Champs Elysees, then I guess you have to go! ;)
(on the other hand, I'd LOOOOOOOOVE to go to Vancouver in the summer :)
How special to see you all. I've been following along from afar and greatly anticipating seeing and hearing about it all.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, Eric, it seems you put on some weight? I've never seen you in person before but I was comparing the picnic photo with your profile photo to the left (Qui Etes Vous).
ReplyDeleteAnyway....it was a nice backdrop for the photo and let's hope you organise another picnic in winter...there's a high chance I'll be in Paris this winter!
A lovely photo! I can't wait for the videos! I am delighted for all of you - you clearly had a wonderful time!
ReplyDeletep.s. It must have been a special occasion! Eric it looks like you you are wearing your very cool shoes again!
ReplyDeleteAll those smiley faces!!! PDPers are very sympathetic and photogenic.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all had fun! So nice to see all of your smiling faces. Thanks for the photo Eric.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was there too... Awww... Too far from Paris for now, and too busy with the cdpb site... lol! :~)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to put a name on every face! Please tell me who you are!!
Eric, you're always very elegant with your classic shirts.. It is so YOU!
Tomate Farcie:
ReplyDeleteThank you for the words of advice...I think I would still like to experience the city in the summer - even for a couple of days. The flavour that each season brings to a city is so unique and from my first visit this past fall I have been smitten! Clearly like the rest of the PDP following. And I would have to visit Eric, of course!
And I must agree, Vancouver in the summer is pretty close to nirvana! Although our spring right now is quite nice with all of the cherry blossoms and magnolia's in bloom. No complaints from my corner of the world.
:-)
Nikki
That's the best looking and most intelligent group of people I've seen in one place for a long time! But like me, they follow Paris Daily Photo, so that explains everything! 8^)
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking about the pronunciation of PDPers - I'm going with "p'Deepers" until advised otherwise. That's with a California accent.
Gros Bisous to ALL of the PDP "famille"!! You all look Terrific!! You all look happy and full of good cheer! Parfait!!
ReplyDeleteEric...You are always saying you are "tired" but you look very much in "your element" and you don't look tired at all! LOL!! You look GREAT and very content! I love those 2008 sunglasses on the woman to your right...and she is???
Merci to Madonna for taking the photo..now, she must have been VERY tired after that Olympia performance. Did she have you all doing a bit of yoga on the banks of the Seine?? ;-)
Quelle fabulous bunch! Did you all parle francais? I can't wait to be told who's who. You're all good looking and quite chic.
ReplyDeleteYour message is lovely, Eric. And Madonna, it was so nice of you to snap the photo.
Most family reunions wouldn't be this lovin' and warm! So great.
ReplyDeleteTF: I've moved the aforementioned photo to the top of today's post. There are a few - much older - ones below it, should you be interested.
ReplyDeleteOf course everyone is smiling and I would be too! Nice weather, fellow pdper's, good food/wine on the Seine...it's making me smile:)
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing more photos and videos!
I hope to be there next year!
Thank you Eric for posting this photo to tie us over:)
Being a regular PDP reader, it's fun to see everyone! And it looks like you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteWish I were in Paris, too...
MZM
SIGH...SIGH...SIGH...I envy you all for being there in the company of Eric, Michael, Guille, Rose and everyone else.
ReplyDeleteYou look so happy all of you, it must have been great fun. How late did you stay ???
I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures and videos.
What a gorgeous photo of the most beautiful people in Paris! I shall have to put this one on my mantle.
ReplyDeleteBettina, TOO late. This morning is awful.LOL
ReplyDeleteOkay, I'm the red girl in the middle/right(sorry Tomate!).
Have to go. See you soon for some gossips. hehe.
Guille I can't believe you're already up -- I'm just about to go to bed!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see more of your photos Eric and hear more gossip from everyone, but now it's late in CA. However, I did post a few photos from tonight's SF PDP picnic on my blog if anyone wants to see the fun and food they missed:
http://www.katiefornia.blogspot.com/
Glad to hear everyone had a great time. Wish I could have been there; maybe someday!
ReplyDeleteIt's a pleasure to see all these smiles, I wish I could be with you another year! Merci Eric!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I just don't know where to begin! If I post on yesterday's photo (currently at 168 comments), I'm sure to miss out on today's comments. BUT...I'm still laughing out loud at all the comments yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI can say, that the 2 surprise guests were really 2 friends of Eric that live in Spain and England who came to the picnic last night without him expecting it. Patricia, who is on the front row left and Kate, who is snapping the photo for us. Thanks Kate!
All I can say is that it was a fantastic picnic and a wonderful time! The number of people who brought little presents and said such nice things was overwhelming. This photo doesn't capture 1/10th of the food and drink that was available. And it definitely doesn't capture 1/1000th of the amount of fun we had.
ReplyDeleteThanks for organising this each year Eric letting us all play a part. I can't wait to see the video/photos. I'll send you mine asap so that you can use some with YOU in them too!
Paris was really gorgeous yesterday
ReplyDeleteFood excellent brought by everyone (except me Oups...i forgot)
People so nice ;-)
Thanks to Eric for this brilliant idea.
It was a wonderful night, and thanks so much, Eric and Michael, for the idea, the organization, the champagne, the tablecloth and all the starter food. By the time everyone arrived, we had enough food to feed all of the PDPers.
ReplyDeleteI loved meeting everyone, too, esp. Marie (far left, in CDG-PHX's gift of limited-edition glasses, and the purveyor of fine vintage French postcards), CDG-PHX (green jacket behind Eric - your quiz was hilarious - I'd love to be on one of your flights!), and Anissa (far right, long hair), who graced one of Eric's recent photo posts -"Woman Sitting with Statue in Front of Hungarian Embassy." And Michael, and Jeffrey, and Thib, and Rose (who, as promised, set up a mini bar and mixed drinks on the banks of the Seine) and Guille and(who wore a bathing suit just in case ...) and Stefan and Corinne and Craig and .....
It really was like watching a storybook come to life.
Barb (aka Barbscoot)
PS. Anyone who wants to rent scooters and join us on Sunday (big holiday so NO traffic), let me know. We can use the picnic forum organize it.
Barb - you did it much better than I could have!
ReplyDeleteDid somebody mention that Guille brought flowers to "the guys who like receiving flowers"?
After that, I just couldn't throw her into the Seine. Of course, we tried it anyway...
Did Guille bring her drum? Did Michael sing "The Girl from Ipanema"?
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous group of people. Both there and all of you peeking out here from within this scrolling rectangle.
You guys really know how to do it up right.
Eric, what a great evening that must have been. The photo tells it all, friends (old and new) enjoying an evening together - smiles all around.
ReplyDeleteOh yes Michael we do want more of Eric. Eric you look just fab here and so do you michael (oh please comment on yesterday's too; we need answers for some of it). I recognise Guille of course but not sure of anyone else - is it possible to have a left to right notation?
ReplyDeleteLoved the first comment here by Anonymous: Lynn - WAKE UP! he he i had car trouble otherwise would have been here at 8.30.
Now the question is - do we have to wait until tomorrow for the vid and more pics or is Eric going to update this post? Hmmm more speculation. He certainly knows how to keep us guessing doesn't he. Always leave them wanting more huh Eric? !
ReplyDeleteOh Lynn I'll try, but I really have a ton of things to do today. I also think a few more people showed up after the photo, so maybe somebody can help?
ReplyDeleteTall Gary, it amazed me last night and it amazes me now how people can remember all of the small details. I'm horrible at that. No drums nor singing (by us at least), but there were a few drums, a trombone and a trumpet by a group of people next to us at the end of the evening. All "students" looking for leftover alcohol. Of course there wasn't any and Eric couldn't convince them to take a bottle of Iced Tea. Imagine...
I think that someone should suggest that Eric does this once a month during summer to accommodate all of people who couldn't make it this time, but who might be coming to visit Paris in the next months. What do you think?
ReplyDeletehe he Valerie a great idea... but... well, good luck with that then!
ReplyDeleteYes maybe someone else can fill us in with details, can't all fall to Michael, even though i've just demanded he does on yesterday's comments!
I'm dying for more photos etc. Eric could add to this one couldn't he.... i can't take another late night. Eek.
Wish i'd been there. I will be next year. I will. I'll be the one drinking iced tea with Eric.
This looks like a slice of heaven! I found my way from Nashville, TN, USA to PDP a couple of weeks ago and have been enjoying the site ever since. It is clear to me already that I could have a fabulous time sharing a picnic on the Seine (or even somewhere else, but the Seine would really top it off!) with this group!
ReplyDeleteBarb that was exactly what we wanted .. but more please from anyone? So Rose, you mixed drinks? You're wonderful. Thank you so much for phoning me. Guille you wore a swimsuit, wow. I'm glad Michael didn't throw you in though, you'd have been freezing! Phx so you ARE real! It's good to see you - you look wonderful and what fun we had on the phone. Guille you look pretty as ever. I'm soooo curious to know who the others are.... would anyone object to a left to right?
ReplyDeleteIt's a real achievement all of you who could attend, to get together like this on the Seine, i just love it. I say well done to Eric for thinking of PDP in the first place!
What a great picture. Everyone looks so nice! I'm anxious to find out who is who in the photo!
ReplyDeleteoh by the way, Eric, i love you too. Oh sorry, was your address plural? Oh.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could fill you with more details ... I will try. First of all, that was a wonderful gathering with awesome people I heve been very very pleased to meet!!!! Thank you Eric for all of that. Needless to say that we love you too. I agree with Lynn (once more!!) you just look fab on the photo (just as you do in real!). In order to help you, Lynn and the others who want to know more, here are some indications from the photo : first line from left to right : Patricia (who actually has been living in Barcelona for three months), Justine's boyfriend (from Virginia), Eric ;), Barbara from Canada, Jeff (Minneapolis), Thib (Paris);
ReplyDeleteAbove, left to right, Marie (whose blog is really nice : vintage postcards - & Lynn's songs do you remember?), then ooops ? (sorry), ? (sorry too), Justine (Virginia), Lynn (Phx-cdg!! so cute and wonderful to speak with, brought an incredibly funny quizz), Rose (who was so kind to give me a present, I was really touched, thanks a lot Rose, you are great!), Guille (needless to introduce Guille, who is known by everybody here!!!). Behind Guille, there are C & W Bergeron, from US, and me (a bit hidden) : just behind Rose and Lynn/Phx-cdg, beside Michael (needless to be introduced neither!!). Thank you too Michael for the PDP pin you gave to all of us!
Well, I can't go on. Someone may fill in... I am sorry.
Lynn, I would have loved speaking by phone to you too.
I was glad to meet Eric's niece too (Laure). Too bad, not on the photo, I don't know why and very nice too.
I am looking forward to hearing soon again from you all, dear PDPers.
Eric, bonnes vacances et reviens nous très vite! Bises à tous!
It definitely looks like it was a fantabulous event. I wish I could have been there - but I'll be in Paris in exactly three weeks!
ReplyDeleteNice comment Corinne ;) Thank you for making the caption I was too tired to make last night.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently editing last night's video. Bad start, one of the tapes is dead (the one on which I have you Corinne! and Lynn (but she also appears on the other tape, Thib, Michael (he also appears later), Andy, Livio, Anissa (the lady who was on the bench at the Hungarian center) and the beginning of Guille's interview).
Needless to say I'm furious but I'm still working on the other tape. I hope I'll come up with something good.
I will update you.
Eric, don't worry for the part of the video you lost with me on! I must confess I am a kind of relieved by this new ;)
ReplyDeleteNo, I'm just kidding, you know and I can picture how irritating it is.
You were so busy yesterday with all that video job ; you did it for us, I know. You are so generous in everything you do for PDP.
I am totally sure I will enjoy the result and look forward to it. Ciao ;)
What a gorgeous photo. I really mean it - everyone looks so nice. Precisely the people one would love to meet.
ReplyDeleteThe SF picnic looked like a nice gathering too - and what a sunset you got!
Lois, answer from yesterday's post: Yes, I've found a job. Not the most "glorious" job in the world but it'll only be for two months, so I shouldn't complain! (Hotel work; seeing to rooms etc.)
Am eargerly awaiting the updates to this post!! :)
*eagerly (I can't spell, hehe!)
ReplyDeleteFélicitations pour le piqué-niqué!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope I'll be able to join you any other time.
I love Paris in the Summer, Fall, Winter and Springtime!!!
Bisous des Las Palmas de G.C. (Îles Canaries)
WE LOVE YOU TOO ERIC!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had arrived here today earlier, but after waiting for hours last night I had to leave.
I loooove the picture of the gang, you all look very happy and like the nicest people ever.
I recognize some faces. Guiile you look lovely.
Rrose you rock!!! Gostei dos colares!
Phx you look so great!
Michael is hiding in the back.
Jeff is looking very elegant.
And Eric has his usual sweater on his shoulders!!
ok now I'm gonna read all the comments to catch up!
Very happy to know you had such a good time!!!
Rose and Phx I would have loved to talk to you on the phoe. Can't believe I missed that... would have been great to talk to Guille too.
ReplyDeleteWell, I believe we'll have other opportunities for that!
Lynn: Forgot to say, I like your new photo. Very cool, hehe. ;)
ReplyDeleteMonica: Hi! (I see you're here at the same time as me. :))
ReplyDeleteWhat a good turn-out. I'm a bit in love with Guille's gypsy flair.
ReplyDeleteHello PDP Picnic-ers! Oh, what a wonderful photo of the most fabulous, interesting and chic community to be found on Blogger. :) I think I recognize a few of you and Eric, of course, ever so handsome with his luminous smile. I am looking forward to reading more about your adventures picnicking along the Seine.
ReplyDeleteLucio, I saw your photo! Handsome, intelligent, artistic and kind. :)
THANKS a million times, Eric, for this GREAT evening!
ReplyDeleteThat was really good to put 3D faces and real voices on all (most) of you!
Valerie's idea to organize a monthly picnic in the summertime is great! But on another hand, that would reduce the "unicity" of the moment, wouldn't that ?
Some other pictures on my blog http://carroir.over-blog.com, though they're not as good as Eric's...
BTW, Eric, I authorized myself to "steal" a part of your photo for my today's profile ! I hope you don't mind !?
Thanks Alexandra!
ReplyDeleteCorinne that was superb. I'm now going to enlarge the picture and go through one by one to get to know you. Marvellous.
Probably a good thing i wasn't able to come this time as i seem to have come down with a fluey thing - feels like two bears fighting inside my head - i shall look forward to the next one.
Eric i hope you wouldn't mind that i saved the pic and will send to my mother? She knows nothing of computers but she knows about PDP! She was sorry i couldn't come so i can show her all about it. She'll enjoy that. My father does use computers but he thinks this is all in French and he wouldn't understand! I've told him and told him....!
So a good time was had by all. There are a lot of very jelaous people posting comments here, and yes incuding me. Oh to be in France.
ReplyDeleteSo a good time was had by all. There are a lot of very jelaous people posting comments here, and yes incuding me. Oh to be in France.
ReplyDeleteThib: The new photo's great! Glad to see you could make it! (You were on of the people in the photo that I recognized straight off. :))
ReplyDeletethib i like your profile shot!
ReplyDeleteLynn: You're welcome! :)
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLooked through your pictures Thib, very nice. I especially like the one of the bridge with the sun setting. Amazing light! Makes me even more jealous of course. :)
ReplyDeleteLynn, Alexandra, thanks for your comments on my profile shot! Your compliment should also be to Kate who (I think) took the photo, and to Eric, who published it ;-)
ReplyDeleteLynn, I see you also changed your picture. Alexandra, your turn, now! lol
maybe someday i'll make it. i love this blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Thib, your photos on your blog are really nice too! And I could easily recognize you now with your new profile one!!
ReplyDeleteLynn, sorry to hear you are not fine today... Maybe the emotion after Eric's call, yesterday? ;)Such an emotion, I guess :)
I hope you'll get better, very soon.
Thib, you're welcome! "your turn, now!" Maybe, lol! ;)
ReplyDeleteSalut Corinne,
ReplyDeleteYou see, no stethoscope on this one ;-))
What an excellent night you all had.
ReplyDeleteEric, it has been a pleasure to have followed the entertainment, beginning with the super video of you walking down to the river from the métro. That was brilliant.
Did people spend lots of time photographing each other?
How great it is to see such a wonderful and large group of bloggers and friends all in the one delightful location and with you as their host.
You have made the rest of us happy and, yes, a rod for your own back !!
It sounds like the repeat performance(s) will be in high demand.
See you on August 26; come hell or high water.
Les Benauts d'Adelaïde, tous à l'envers.
I'd love to see the video/s that Eric made too, only I wish I wouldn't have to sign up on Facebook to see them ... Would that be possible, without too much trouble?
ReplyDeleteThanks Corinne, - was up most of the night. I very nearly came back onto PDP. lol. Yes i think i was over emotional having spoken to Eric, that did it for sure, good thinking.
ReplyDeleteThat phone call was just wonderful. Rose hasn't been in here today as i expect she's travelling back home but it was a lovely idea of hers. It felt like i was there, being passed from Michael to Eric, to Michael, to Eric, to Michael, oh sorry got quite carried away there.
Thib i think it's fun to change the profile now and then isn't it.
Oh Thib, the photos on your site are fantastic. Everyone must check them out!
ReplyDeletehttp://carroir.over-blog.com
Yes been there, Michael; aren't they great. Now, this video; i'm totally with Alexandra, i want to see it too....waaaaaaahhh! Please Eric, lovely Eric, can you put it here too?
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous group! That looks like quite a spread you all had going there! I love how the PDP picnic gets bigger and bigger every year - I hope to one day be there in person!
ReplyDeleteEric, you have such an incredibly happy look on your face - it must feel great to have been the one who started such an incredible community around the world! Merci beaucoup!!!!
Lynn,
ReplyDeleteI agree, it's fun to change photo every now and then! The point is I don't have so many (nice & recent) photos of myself, as I usually am the one with the camera at home ;-)
That's why I took the opportunity to "steal" one from PDP...
Eric you are so nice and I/we love you too !!!
ReplyDeleteKatie and Thib I love your photos.
It sure looks like you had a great time in SF too.
Guille did you cut your hair for the picnic ?
Lynn I hope you'll feel better soon.
Can't wait for the video... Eric..!
What a great photo - what a fabulous time you all had. So wish I'd been there. Perhaps next year. thanks for posting the numbers and telling us who everyone is, Eric. You look SO happy!
ReplyDeleteOK, there is a 40 minute video currently being exported to my PC. Afterwards I'll have to post it on Youtube or something...
ReplyDeleteI'll be lucky if I manage to do all this before tomorrow morning!
Oh yes! You Tube! Why didn't i think of that? Can't wait, Eric.
ReplyDeleteOh, excellent! Thank you so much! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely-looking bunch you all are!
ReplyDeleteEric, I'm sure that doing PDP must take up LOTS of your free time, but clearly it brings so much pleasure (inspiration, community) to so many folks. I'm thrilled to have found you and hope you keep it up forever. Prediction: There will be more and more of your PDP "family" at your annual get-together each year (including me some time, I hope!).
Mon cher, cher Eric...
ReplyDeleteI obviously made the wrong decision by not being there last night. When I read that there wasn't any singing I was so sad to not have come. I do hope you'll not forget me as I see all of those other beautiful people surrounding you which makes me quite jealous.
I have to run now. Guy is calling me. I wish he'd quit nagging me...I told him to send the butler for croissants, but he insists on walking downstairs himself. Imagine!
Kisses...
-M
Eric: I don't think you can post a 40 min video on UTube. You'll have to split it in pieces.
ReplyDeleteFYI - I had an SMS from Jeff earlier today saying they were in line to go up to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Then another one later saying it was "Amazing".
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing event! Cool to read about it. Had I stopped, I would have brought some wine and some tunes...but with the Seine and the PDPers, I'm sure there was plenty of "music" to get all through the evening. So from across the pond, a hearty hello from a dad of two little girls (under 3 1/2)who hopes to make a trip back to Paris in a handful of years. Until then, I'll continue to check in on PDP and read about the "good life." At present, we've friends visiting from Chartres, so I guess part of France came to us. It'll have to do for now. :-) Cheers all!
ReplyDeleteThe video is ready (it's almost 11 PM!!) now I have to upload it somewhere... You're right Anonymous, Youtube won't allow me, I'll try Google video.
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I don't know what to do...
Let me try.
It will take 3,3 hours to upload... I'll be in bed when it finishes! But I'll probably be able to post it tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteIt's long (40 minutes!) but you can fast forward, so you don't have to see the 40 minutes in a row ;)
Michael, never mind the SMS.. tell him "how about a picture for the poor shmucks stuck behind the monitor all day, uh?" ;)
ReplyDeleteTF
Jennifer: I'd like to plead guilty on all those counts, but it would be extremely immodest of me. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great looking gathering of people! Cheers to you all.
ReplyDeleteIs this Jeff's first trip to Paris? So glad he's getting to La Tour!
ReplyDeleteColtrane Lives, how nice that a bit of France has come to you. I have a French voisine. I think I'll go hug her. She'll be shocked, of course.
Bettina, no I didn't cut my hair for the picnic. LOL
ReplyDeleteThib, I hope everything is fine in Cheverny. See you there for the auction sale maybe!
Eric, We HAVE to see the whole video (oooh so bad you lost my interview hehe.Just kidding, of course, like Corinne).
Expat, my gipsy flair?! ;)
Michael, I got the same SMS from Jeff. I'm little bit disappointed, I thought it was a personnal SMS!
Petrea, Jeff seems to be a huge fan of Paris. So Jeff, 7th or 8th trip to Paris? You didn't remember last night.
Ah, Guille, I see.
ReplyDeleteMy third trip, I hope, will coincide with next year's picnic. Last night my husband said he was glad I had "imaginary virtual friends," and that next year, together we'll make them real.
Petrea, we're not 'imaginary virtual friends', we're are already real, I swear. Last night was the proof. And if you don't trust me, I would have to send you something from Paris to show you that I'm a real human being...Ok, I'll do that. :)
ReplyDelete'we're are' is probalby to much. LOL
ReplyDeleteI know you're real, Guille! You don't have to send me anything! It's my husband's joke. He wants to come and meet you, too. (He loves Paris as much as I do, but he's afraid of becoming addicted so he doesn't read the comments on PDP!)
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure Petrea. "Surreal" maybe, but "real" may be pushing things a bit with Guille. Last I saw her she was floating around on air giving out flowers to men! Can you believe that?
ReplyDeleteOh and poor PHX-CDG...she was so shy and timid last night. I'm afraid we've scared her away. I guess she'll pop back when she gets her feet back on the ground.
ReplyDelete"Surreal" is a compromise word John and I can agree on. In fact, I'll give him some flowers and we'll discuss it. But I don't buy the part about PHX.
ReplyDeleteAlexandra hi! I'm sorry I'm missed your comment earlier. I left as soon as I posted my comment.
ReplyDeletePetrea...I too am fortunate to have a "voisine"(from Bourdeux)who I enjoy talking to...mainly about French cuisine and wine I'm afraid. I believe La Tupina(sp?)--Bourdeux restaurant--was our last conversation two days ago.
ReplyDeleteIronically, my wife is the fluent French speaker and I am more of the French history/jazz music geek of the family. However, at present, Spanish is the language often employed at our table. (Dare I say this on a French blog site?)
So magnificent to see you all in this photo and to read the comments. By doing so and seeing the video and other photos, you all have included PDPers everywhere in the enormous fun. What a LOT of work for you Eric, and many other friends who helped out. So lovely of you all to bring the picnic to the world. I look forward to seeing the SF group's fun, as well.
ReplyDelete-Kim

Coltrane lives, when I meet a French person living in the U.S. I always wonder how they ended up here and why they stay, then I remember I like it here, too!
ReplyDeleteVicky Hugo: I agree, there's hope for the world, and I think the internet can be part of that hope as long as it remains in the hands of the PDPeople!
Maybe now that there are better trains to Paris, Gail & I might come next year. We'll start saving now, as I know everything is so expensive there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful gathering, I am sure it was fun to meet everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteEveryone looks so happy! I'm jealous.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful people and I am completely agree that all of them have an amazing art
ReplyDelete
