Another classic view

Here is what you can see if you walk down the street from Metro station Richelieu Drouot to the Galeries Lafayette or Printemps department stores - Precisely at rue Laffitte, a little narrow street in the 9th arrondisemment. You will have recognized the Sacré Coeur of course, in the background, but that is not the only church in this photo. You can also see Notre Dame de Lorette in the foreground. I already posted the same view a few years ago, but I passed by it again today and I did not resist taking another shot.

  4. What an exquisite photo! The colors are so vivid that the image almost seems unreal. Then again, Paris often struck me that way; I felt as though I were standing in a fairy tale--something too beautiful to be real. I love the way you captured this image from what looks like a spot nestled in a corner of the city. The angle serves to lift my eyes right up to the heavens. Fabulous.

  16. Great eyes blink alike Eric. I had this old shot and was grabbed just like you by this lovely but common view. I mean, so often you are wandering down a street and look left and right and BAM! A great view of some monument or other...
People have often asked me if the two churches you can see are far from each other and one bright spark even asked me which was closer... hmmm, go figure, right? ;-)

  18. Beautiful shot! I often see that view since it's not far from my place. Though you must have a good camera zoom because the Sacré Coeur normally seems much farther away than in this photo. I love it though!
