Green Paris

I'm just back from a very long weekend in the South of France (near Nîmes) where I attended a wedding and spent some time off, far from the city buzz... And though no need to go that far to feel like you're in the country while in Paris! Hence this Parisienne that I photographed in Montmartre and who obviously has green fingers! Maybe did she win the Balcons fleuris (balcony flower decoreting) contest that the Paris city hall organizes every year?!

  1. Wow I'd love to have such green fingers!!! Hey in Paris, a little of green, that counts a lot and
I just remember I have to water my balcony flowers ;)
Hope your week end was fine, Eric. Wasn't it a little too hot? Or too far from Paris...?! Ok, I'm kidding!

  3. I've been watching the Tour de France wend its way through the gorgeous green farms, forests and hills of France. I so love France's pastoral nature. This photo is beautiful -- and so is all the green this gardener has given her neighbors and herself!

  4. Green is good. Except when it rains so often that the grass in my yard grows too fast. I don't like mowing it. I wasn't born to be a farmer!

  5. I have to install the flower pots and boxes with the resevoir built in to automatically water!

  6. how cool of your city to have a balcony flower box decorating contest! I believe this is something NYC should look into hosting as well.

  10. Lily is right—NYC should have a Flowering Terrace contest (although some of them are so high up that they'd have to do the judging from a helicopter). I definitely envy this lucky Parisienne with the green space and the green thumb!

  11. Ooh, how interesting! And beautiful. With the amount of land we have, I don't have many flower boxes, but I do have large gardens in the front of my house that take time. In fact, I need to be out there right now working on them. :) Close to 100 feet of gardens don't take care of themselves! Enjoy some greenery today!
