Icarus at La Défense

I had a meeting at La Défense this morning. La Défense - for those of you who would have forgotten - is a business district right outside Paris where mostly skyscrapers are to be found. But not only... there is also a lot or "street"(there are no actual streets over there!) art, like this one, a stunning statue of Icare (Icarus), made by Igor Mitoraj.

  2. V E R T I G O !

I think this is a very clever shot, especially when something artistic makes me see something in a different way.

  3. I am catching up after a long vacation in a forest with no internet (but great scenary). Thank you for the great photos - love the summer dawn in Paris. I could imagine the quiet of the moment before the day starts. Love seeing La Defense. I worked there when I worked in Paris, so it brings back memories. Thanks!

  5. Icarus, who flew too close to the sun, which melted his wings, teaching him humility the hard way. Your photo illustrates humility toward heights. The gods would be pleased. (I also recall your vertigo!)
