Nuit Blanche 2013

Like every year (since 2002), it was La nuit blanche (white night) in Paris last night and like every year there were lots of interesting installations to see. I chose to go to La République,  where the whole place was totally covered in a thick mist - much thicker than the one we - very rarely - have in winter! The installations is called "Fog Square" and was made by Japanese artist Fujiko Nakaya - who I really thank, because it allowed me to take a real cool photo!

  1. That is a bit different, artificial fog as art.

  2. It's a gorgeous photo, Eric! The fog and reflections ~ almost smoke and mirrors. :) Bon weekend.

  3. I haven't the foggiest idea of what to say. Petrea said it best.

  4. Amazing how innovative artists can be be!
Very nice shot with silhouette and reflection and mysterious with the blurry movement of attendees which puts more emphasis on the silhouette.
Being a biker I even love the shot more.

    1. Yes, actually I was lucky because the lady remained still for a moment which was perfect sinc I had to let my shutter open for 2 seconds or so.

  5. Yes it is a great shot.
    Innovative and mysterious and beautiful.
I like the huge bike and the small feminine silhouette.
It looks like a reflection shot from a mirror or even more... from a ray-X shot !!
I should refer to you as a doctor and a photographer ;)

  7. They had the same type of installation at our Nuit Blanche several years ago and it too was fabulous. It was a Japanese artist too - I wonder if the same one?

    1. I don't know, in fact, what's good about this event is that it's extremely cosmopolitan.

  8. Merci for posting this Eric! I was able to enjoy Nuit Blanche last night, too, but I did not make it to that exhibit. It sounded so cool and now I see what I missed!

    1. It was really impressive I must say. But I'm sure you saw other interesting installations. I did not have the time to go to many places myself.

    2. I did see some really great installations - sadly, I'm too old to go all night! I am thrilled that I was here for this event!
