Thanks Eric. I see now that it's an exterior door. From the lighting I thought it was indoors. I just noticed the street sign. I hadn't noticed the name on the street sign until Barbscoot's comment. I wonder. . .?! ;^)
(Barb- you might check out renting someone's apartment, as well as checking hotels. You might find just what you want at a more affordable price and a few more ammenities for the kids.)

I love this blog. The conversations are almost as much fun as the photos! But after reading this whole discussion, I have to wonder if the photographer is discretely making his own editorial comment on the debate by featuring the street sign: Boulevard de Cliche (oops, Clichy).

Total digression: a lovely Canadian family (two daughters, 8, 11), are looking for a cheap, clean hotel in October. In Paris proper. Loaded with character. Near a cafe.

Any suggestions?

my dad LOVES taking pictures of doorways.....when we went on vacation to italy, my brother and i would notice that he wasn't with us, turn around, and 50 feet behind us, he would be taking pictures of doorways.....

they really are beautiful and someone mentioned that they wish this door could talk...i agree! imagine what doors have seen all these years......
