I would have to agree with the majority above... longtime PC user struggling with managing DIY IT administration on home PC... came home with a Mac one day... brief learning curve.... and now I am a multi-platform user!

PC at work and Mac at home and lovin' it!

Amazingly Paris never had an Apple store. I have an iphone (but it only cost me 150 EUR with subscription) and a Mac, but am mainly a PC guy. Mac for fun, PC for work.

I love Apple but I don't like the fact that it is so hard to find places that will do it's maintenance and actually know how to deal with it. It has happened to me more than once that when I needed to call my internet assistance, in the middle of the conversation after informing I have a Mac, there was a silence on the other end. The operators are not trained to deal with Macs.

Last summer they started queing up at 6:00 am to buy the new Iphones! They had lawn chairs for pete's sake and a security guard! I"m not an Iphone user but I do have an Ipod shuffle that I can't do my walk each day without.

Funny Eric as I just bought myself a brand new Windows 7 PC too. I'm happy with it. And so are my children for it goes faster than the older PC we've been using since there.
My eldest wanted me to buy a Mac ; Apple is very popular amongst teenagers but I was not very fond of the idea and my daughter finally fell in love with a white Sony one. I just had to agree with that!!
Otherwise, I'm a happy Iphone user. Don't know much about Android, but I trust Eric when he says that's a super choice. If he says it so, it must be so ;)

Ooh la la, la Pomme!

After 20 years on a PC, the last year of which was spent tearing my hair out over viruses (though I had expensive virus protection software), I finally converted.

Virginia knows what comes next: After a brief learning curve, I am a Mac junkie. There's just about nothing that could get me back to a PC. It would be like switching from a Ferrari (with a free, super-mechanic) to a Gremlin (with an expensive but useless grease-monkey who doesn't know how to handle a wrench).

I am so pleased to tell you that I've been a faithful follower at our Birmingham Apple store for almost two years now. In fact, had it not been for my "Mac Dudes" I would never have figured out how to join City Daily Photo!!! CULT you say? Mais oui!! Leave that dark "PC World" and cross over Eric. You will be very glad you did.

PS When I was in Paris last summer, there was an Apple service store steps from our apt. I had some problems with my daughter's Mac Book and the employee that helped me not only fixed my problem but gave me his cell number and email if I should have further problems! Now does anyone want to chat with me about " how rude the French are?"
