The dome was regilded in 1989. Strangely enough, this is the same year of the Loma Prieta quake in San Francisco, which brought about the regilding of the duplicate dome on our city hall.<BR/><BR/>I highly recommend a visit to the Musee de l'Ordre de la Liberation, which is also here and is devoted to the wartime Free French and their leader General Charles de Gaulle. The big dome (St. Louis?) includes Napolean's tomb. Behind this church is the soldiers' church, but I can't remember the name. The two are very different.
