My first day in Paris culminated in La Fête de la Musique in 2004. It was a very nice time, and the impetus for starting my blog (even though it was my second post).

The post, as it appears, was turned in as a writing assignment in college. I think it was that post that drove me to strive to be a travel journalist, so I can probably say that Paris is my muse (like so many others before me).

Fete de la musique is my absolute favorite. I unfortunately had to miss it this year, but didn't miss the scary Metro scene near a huge musicAL gathering like the Bastille. It is a must for anyone who hASN'T BEEN.
uJIMA: tHANKS FOR THE GRAFFITI INFO. i AM DYING TO SEE what they showed. I bought a Miss Tic seriograph last week, and saw other works by other famous graffiti artists in a few Parisian galleries-LesArts going for 2000 euros for a little nothing.

I have only followed your blog for a few days, but I am so amazed about all the pictures and informative comments you share with us! I guess you see things that most people just walk past....

Outdoor music is really fun. I do understand G's complaint, though. I have a neighbor who plays in a band. He doesn't seem to understand that we all don't want to hear them when we're having dinner in the back yard or reading a book on a nice day. A densely built and populated city like Paris is a different environment from where I live, of course.
