I haven’t been this jealous since many years ago, when my best friend who was studying at the Sorbonne called me from a pay phone the students had discovered they could make long distance calls on, without having to pay. She couldn’t speak but just a minute because she said there was long line of students waiting to make their “free” call. However she was on the phone long enough to tell me a group of them had baguettes, cheese, wine and chocolates, and were walking over to Jardin du Luxembourg to sunbathe and eat.
