"Second skin" exhibit

In the exact same street where I took yesterday's picture (rue du Faubourg Poissionnière) my eyes got also caught up by an exhibition in the Fraîch'attitude art gallery. This gallery specializes into modern art and more particularly into art pieces made of fruit or vegetable or anything produced by Mother earth... And until December 17 (hurry!), they host an artist called Isabelle Tournoud who designs garments made of straw, eucalyptus leaves, dried tomatoes(!), and plenty of other gifts of nature! It's definitely worth the visit.

  1. That is fantastic! I'm going to be in Paris the 23rd to the 31st and I'm so upset I'll miss such a fantastic show!

  3. Eric,

Somehow I never picture rue du Faubourg Poissionnière being the fashion street of Paris. Is this neighborhood changing or did you just get lucky? Anyway, I love the photo as you can even sense the textures on display.

  4. > Marcia. Don't be mad, there are plenty of other galleries to see. This exhibit is really original though.

    >Buzzgirl. Is that a proposal?!

    > Michael. Actually the 10th arrondissement - which used to be the least expensive one - is changing dramatically and it shows. But the rue du Faubourg Poissonnière is not the rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré yet!

  5. > Michael.

Sorry, my english is to much limited for these souvenirs !…

  6. I'm also a great fan of store window surprises, Eric, and it is one of the true and purest pleasures of Paris just to stroll around with a camera looking out for the latest extravaganzas. Weird creations there - the one at the back looks like a sort of wearable haystack!

  10. This really is fantastic! When I first looked at the photo, I thought it was fur. One would have to see this in person to really appreciate it. Thanks for the photo, Eric.

  11. Absolutly La rêveuse, it's hard to realize what it actually looks like unless you're close to the "garment". Pay a visit to the link under the name of the artist, there are many more examples.

    Buzzgirl. ;))
