Back to old Paris

You probably think I took this photo somewhere outside Paris? All wrong! I took it in Le Passage Lhomme near Bastille a very old quarter of Paris where there used to be small industries and craft. Now almost all this is gone (not all though, in this passage you still can find some) but the scenery has remained intact. Like this old garage door...

  2. Fantastic shot Eric, I love it ! Very clever shot indeed, you are a brilliant photographer ! Oh, I love Paris so much ! You see the world through a fantastic lens and makes my life better everyday.

This is just the daily highlight of my miserable existence

    God bless you,

    And thank you again.

  6. Superbe photo.

  9. For a moment, I thought you took a trip to a remote village or something. Well done!!!

The lettering "garage" looks authentic, however old it may be. I'd guess 50's, 60's at the latest but who really knows? Anyone?

My guess is that whenever these letters were painted, the first "skyscraper" in La Defense wasn't even built yet.

    Thank you for the nostlagia.

  10. This is what I love so much about France. Such beautiful, quaint scenery in the least expected places. I love the use of color; the bright red door here and your very typical bright sky blue doors on farmhouses. C'est magnifique!

I go for a walk to Bastille very often, however, I've never seen this garage...

  13. Beautiful!

I'm glad to see Paris Daily Photo still up. I tried to access the website from home and school yesterday and both times I recieved an error. So strange.

  14. I took a similar photo of that door not so long ago.
Did you see the sign with the old chair hanging up a few doors down?
