So French!

How about a little cliché for today? The black and white postcard, the little shop in the background, the cobblestone... With a little imagination, you can even hear the accordion music! I thought this was the perfect picture to introduce a very funny video that was reported to me today by Cindy from San José, California. This video, made by a real Frenchman, will teach you in a pretty funny way, how to speak French in 5 minutes!

  1. Funny video! And so very true.

Today's photo takes me into my own living room. I bought a postcard display carousel from Pottery Barn and filled it with my extensive (obsessive) collection of Parisian postcards.

    Go to:
    http://www.potterybarn.com
And search for "photo carousel" if you want to do the same!

  5. I love the guy with the map in the background. I mean really, it IS Montmartre...

When I was there last, a group of obvioulsy out-of-breath senior ladies from Ireland stopped and asked me where they could find Sacre Coeur (booming behind their heads).

Smiling, I pointed and replied, "If you turn around, there are a few hundred more steps to climb and there you'll find her."

Their response was funnier. Pointing in the other direction down the steps, they asked, "Can't we get there this way?"

  11. The video is very funny Eric. I watched and forgot what your picture was all about. Then read Michael's comment and laughed even more. The poor ladies.

Michael should have directed them to the trolley that could have taken them up to the cathedral. Well they would have walked a bit more and not run out of energy.

  12. I just discovered your blog from the web magazine France Today. I'm so glad I did. I have been so hungry for another visit to Paris and your blog really fits the bill. I was also impressed with the numerous other city blogs that you have stirred up. I'll definitely be back for more.

So..Michael did you answer with a "very French"...."Pffffffttttt"!!???

    Too funny!!!

Video is very funny...I'll be sending that one around!!

I love the B&W card on the rack, with the current scene going on..great photo! We always look back at pictures of the Forties, Fifties and Sixties in Paris and think of what a romantic time it must have been. I wonder if in forty or fifty years people will look at photos taken now and think we were living in a "romantic" time?? Doubt it!
