I love Paris!

OK Strasbourg was nice and unusual. The architecture was beautiful and somewhat exotic, but I'm glad to be back in Paris, the home of the Alexander III bridge. Did you notice that, like every year, they installed the Ferris Wheel in Les Tuileries? Of course you did, it's right there LOL! It's currently cold here (as it was in Strasbourg BTW.) but I don't care, Paris is so beautiful in winter...

  2. Many hours of darkness and lots of rain could be depressing. But The City of Lights makes it all worthwhile. Lovely!

I have a zillion photos of the ferric wheel, the ferris wheel with the obelisk etc. Now the Pont Alexander III is my favorite......well one of my many favorites of course. Eric, will I hope to see in in janvier?? You are right, Paris in the winter is so nice.:)
( And all those pesky tourists have gone home! )

  7. I love Paris also! Last year at this time I was heading to Paris. Even though I was stressed because I don't speak French (and didn't want to offend anyone) I loved the city. It is beautiful in winter & I think I'd like to visit again in warmer weather.

  8. I too was heading towards Paris last year at this time (and will be again on Friday!).

Hope it stays cold - and no awful rain like last year!

  10. With the simple color palette in thiks photo, I've decide that your camera must be supplying the gold and blue hues to so many of your photos. I know the ferris wheel is white, but look at the blue hue it carries (rather than yellow or red), and, again, the ambient light and the incandescents have a gold tinge. Its lovely!! This one's going into my slide show.

  21. Poor Anonymous! You are about to fall in love with a city. Just as ET Suzy said, your heart will remain there and you will always be looking for ways to go back. (And that's a good thing!) I miss it just as much today as I did when I left three and a half years ago.

"Every time I look down on this timeless town
whether blue or gray be her skies.
Whether loud be her cheers or soft be her tears,
more and more do I realize:

I love Paris in the winter when it drizzles............

    I love Paris every moment,
    every moment of the year.
I love Paris, why, oh why do I love Paris?
    Because my love is near."

  25. Your words are moving. Such a powerful sotfness in each one of your words...
'I love Paris, why, oh why, do I love Paris?' Yes, I understand why this question can be asked. I wish I could share with you many of the reasons why..this is Paris in winter, between cold temperatures and warm lights.
I do keep in mind any of these bridges that sometimes show up gracefully. How I love them. Then there is no more need to ask. Keep them in mind.
