Chocolate bar at hotel Cadran

A few days ago I received an email from someone at hotel Cadran, a hotel located very near the rue Cler in the 7th arrondissement. Laura - that's the name of the person who wrote to me - said "I enjoyed visiting your blog about Paris, you may be interested in the chocolate bar (and macarons) we created with the help of Christophe Roussel in our hotel." Chocolate bar?! You bet... I was there the next day with my camera! I took a zillion photos as always but only kept a few and saved this one for easter as it is the tradition in France to eat chocolate on Easter's Sunday. The hand belongs to Laura, BTW! Pay the hotel Cadran a visit if you're in the neighborhood, maybe they'll give you a little extra chocolate if you say you came on behalf of PDP!

  1. Mmm...I'm a total chocoholic, so this photo is specially for me I guess :D I wish I was you, Eric, and had visited this chocolate bar. This photo made my think that I have dark chocolate with marzipan in kitchen, but I think it's not a very good idea to eat it at night...

Have nice Easter everyone - for those who celebrate Easter ;)

  3. I was checking out this neighborhood last week as we will be staying near the La Tour Marbourg metro during the summer. What a nice yummy treat to look forward to. I feel my thighs growing even while I look at the picture.

For anyone interested in this tidbit....I had walked down rue Cler around 9pm at night, and when I got close to the Tribeca bar it was FILLED with beautiful young single Parisiennes having the best time chatting away. I thought rue Cler was just an upscale market street!!!I NEVER would have thought it was busy at nite.

  6. Hmm, so you're a chocoholic too, huh? You know there are actually tours for people who want to go around scoffing chocolate in all the fancy chocolate boutiques of Paris? I'll have to take one of those one day!

  18. Oh, I wish I was there!! Chocolate, especially dark, is almost my favorite food group. Although I have to say that if they mixed a dark chocolate with salted caramel, I would be in heaven. No question. Happy Easter, Eric, and enjoy your chocolate today!

  20. Talking about chocolate, I'm just back from Trouville in Normandy where I celebrated Easter with some members of my family (and yes, for those who've been following this blog for some time) with my 96 year old aunt.

I was given a chocolate bell!

Monday is a holiday for us in France, so I will stay home...

  22. Michael, you´re right!

This photo is to die for!!!!! As usual, I had too many chocolate bars and eggs this year, now I have to control myself. Again.

I hope Eris not only took lots of photos but tasted lots of chocolates as well!

    ;)

  23. Yes..chocolate is a reason for living!! I received a lot of chocolate this year, no bells, but a large chocolate bunny and fleur de sel caramels...soooo good!

I know this hotel well[looks like they have done a makeover]as I used to stay around the corner on the rue Valadon. Yes, phx-cdg...this is a great area!! It isn't exactly a hot spot at night[but that is why I like it here..more of a neighborhood]..but still lively enough. The market in the morning is convenient and a great thing to wake to!
