Happy Valentine 2011

I spent most of my Sunday working and I did not even have the time to go out and take a photo for Valentine's day... I dug into my stock (and God knows it's huge!), but could not find anything as good as this or this... In despair(!) I found this, a photo that I took after the last PDP picnic in June and that I already partially published. Anyway, let me wish a happy Valentine's day to all lovers and more particularly to these two who will probably look familiar to you ;-)

  1. Names and hearts carved into trees. Love pledged eternal. Something very sweet about this photo. Timeless. Happy Valentine's Day to all.

  2. ta mere...lol--very romantic! ;)

But I will have to show this to my hubby, since "G + L" is engraved on our wedding rings...fortunately he doesn't speak French so he won't notice the insult next to the initials. Ha!

  3. I remember these trees -- but it is just the left side of your whole photo. I love these trees on the Seine -- Paris' designated spot for lovers.

  5. Since none of the 4 women who posted before me asked, I have to say: Will you be my valentine, Eric? :~} Before I even clicked on your links, I knew what at least two of them would be! Looks like all the trees here have come under the knife of posterity. (You have some good stuff in your archives!)

  9. How not to remember your previous posts ? They are engraved in me. Intact and beautiful. You chose the perfect picture for today. It reminds me of what I was able to write on tables in my classrooms when I was a teenager and was in love without admitting it totally! Love to all.

Article in today's Int'l Herald Tribune today from Singapore reads: "Malaysian Muslims warned over Valentine's Day vices".

    Maybe you're safer Bettina...

  13. Happy Valentine's Day to one and all...

The etching looks so beautiful... think its the b/w which is doing the great deal to a simple park feature.

  17. Happiest of Valentine's Day to you all! Eric, especially to you who brings us the joy and love of Paris every day, Merci, Merci. The little heart under the C+E is close to what I had on my wedding cake--a heart with a cross in the middle. The left side of the heart makes a "C", the right a "D", and the cross because we believe that God brought us together. *sigh* So happy. :)

  18. It's a lovely shot. The only thing better, perhaps, would have been names and hearts etched into the Eiffel tower!

  19. Happy Valentine's Day, Eric. Gosh, I think this marks my 4th with the PDP crew.

Now I think I'll go out and write sweet nothings in the sand. What? It's transitory. I have commitment issues! ;-)
