Invalides, last evening...

I thought I had shown you the Invalides so many times over these past - almost - 8 years, that it was not worth giving it a new try. And though, on the way back from a goûter (snack) at friends yesterday, I stopped and took this shot. I know it almost looks like I took it at day light, but I did not; the light in the foreground is 100% artificial and the blue sky is probably due to the fact that I had to lighten the whole photo a bit. Anyway I like the final result.

  1. The sky and clouds look fake but it makes the shot even more interesting. I love it!

  5. Très réussi! And even more amazing when you blow it up a bit.

  6. Invalides fascinates because the complex of buildings has two distinct personalities. The cathedral on one side, with Napolean's tomb, and the soldiers' church on the other, with the hospital. It's worth the visit.

I like this view from the north.

  7. I know it looks fake, but I promise, I only lightened up the photo a bit, that's all.

  8. Completely right the final result if completely true. The snap captured by you is really nice. It generates the glance of computer graphic but mentioned by you it is real. Hard to believe but the truth is it is original. Awesome picture captured by you.
