Faire le pont !

If you were in Paris this week you'd find it pretty empty... Why? Because a lot of Parisians made "Le pont" (the bridge), that is took advantage of a holiday to go on vacation for the whole week. To be accurate there are actually two holidays this week (the 8th of may which commemorates the armistice of WWII and the Ascension which a Catholic feast). Therefore if you take 3 days of vacation (out of your 25 yearly allowance!) you get a whole week vacation... FYI, there are two bridges in this photo: first one is Pont Marie and the second one is Pont Louis Philippe. BTW, the picnic video is finally edited... Check it out here.

  1. Beautiful picture! You got a great angle on both bridges.

Am I the only one who can't get the video to play?

    1. Maybe it was not totally uploaded/processed yet when you try to watch it Petrea (It was still uploading when I went to bed yesterday), but now it's working fine it seems.

  3. duh, I should have watched the video before putting in my previous note.....great job everyone, looks like you all were having so much fun. I now can put some faces with names. That water sure was high, glad you had enough room for the picnic. I cannot wait to come back to Paris. Anne

  4. Great job again on the picnic video, Eric. I know it's a time consuming task and we all appreciate your work. Especially me, because you plan the picnic just perfectly for me!

Everyone looks great. It really was fun to see Anna and Thib again, and meet Thib' wife. I'm glad the video played for you, Petrea, because I couldn't remember everyone's names. However, even though Rose was not with us, I did have the notebook she gave me in 2008 and I got notes from everyone at this year's picnic. Lynn, I'm sorry we didn't call Rose and Monica, but I'm glad you said hello to them.

(Shannon didn't contact me, so I guess we're not getting married after all. Sigh)

Home again, the trip was smooth and safe. Having morning coffee before my first day back to work. Sigh.

Clo and Thib, you are looking well, I hope you had a great weekend - Picnic, Jazz and Jacquemart-Andre sounds pretty good to me.
Jeff, you made it - in more ways than one!
Hi Stuart, and Michael of course, tired - but tanned.
The one person we didn't see on the video was you Eric, but we did get to hear your melodious singing voice!
