Never seen before...

After 8 years of posting a daily photo on PDP I feel like I've shown almost everything in Paris (as if that were possible!). For once, however, I'm sure I never took a photo from this angle, simply because it was nearly impossible... Why? Well because this is the Pont Alexandre III from the Seine level, a piece of embankment that was almost unreachable a few weeks ago because of the many cars that would run alongside. Like I told you about a month ago, this part of the left bank is now closed to traffic and is being turned into a giant pedestrian walk, which is why I could now take this photo. Needless to say, car drivers are not too happy about this!

  1. Car drivers are never happy. But I'm guessing the pedestrians will enjoy this new promenade.

  3. I hope the remark "I feel like I almost showed everything in Paris" does not mean that you think of closing up the PDP shop! You're a great photographer; the icing on the cake, as we say in American English, is that your photos are of Paris. Happy to see anything that catches your fancy as you walk about, including photos of things you already showed. Or you could start outside in les banlieux. But don't leave us, she wails.

    1. I really feel good about it, but, to be fair I drive a scooter in Paris. I can always weave in between cars and make my way much faster that the poor car drivers that are more and more stuck in traffic due to the anti car policy in Paris!

  5. Wonderful picture of something none of us have ever noticed before. I can't wait to see this new promenade. I enjoy all your pictures, a daily reminder of Paris even if I have seen it before or I am very familiar with the subject.. Even more poignant at the moment because I don't know when I will be able to get back.

    Love Denise

    1. ;-) Soon I hope. Do see it, even though it's really not completed yet. But you can already imagine how it's going to become a very popular walk area.

  6. Not only is this a shot we wouldn't have gotten had you needed to dodge traffic, but your new blog set up really makes it nice Eric.

  7. Wow! As a car driver, I think such a great picture is a very good reason to close the left bank to car traffic!!

    1. Well, you couldn't, because of the traffic. Who would have been crazy enough to walk there?!
