Le bon goût...

Now that the weather is pretty good, that the temperatures are much higher, people have started uncovering... Hence this charming lady that I photographed on the embankment, near the area where the PDP picnic usually takes place. To an average French person this outfit is a little over the top (to say the least!) and certainly not de bon goût but, of course, all this is cultural. What seems vulgar in one part of the world may look very refined in some other parts.

  1. Mrs. V, you and I tend to agree in most things.

  2. Those black rings look like they could be cartoon "thought bubbles"...but there's no thought. So maybe they are.

  4. Following on from yesterday's post, perhaps that's why 'an average French person' is so gloomy!
I'm sure you wouldn't have taken her photo if she had been wearing the safe option of tee shirt and jeans.
If she feels good in this outfit, then good luck to her I say.

Gerald, you haven't seen the front yet. :-)

  5. I feel bad for dissing her. She should be able to wear what she wants to wear, whether I like it or not. And I do like the red ribbon.

  6. De gustibus non disputandem, I've heard—but apparently you CAN argue taste. I'm with Petrea on both counts: Feel bad for saying it, but . . . what's up with that schizophrenic shirt anyway?

  10. This woman's figure provides a nice contrast to the background. It's all very pleasing to the eye and makes for an interesting photograph. Nice catch Eric.

  11. What's up with those ankle buster wedgies on cobble stones going down hill? ;-)

Why don't you post the next photo when she fell flat on her tush?

Looks like she is paying more attention to reading a text message while holding her sun glasses, ever so sexy.

I thought Paris was the fashion capital of the world.....
