Un p'tit verre sur le zinc...

In Paris, I love the atmosphere of these little cafés/brasseries when you have "un p'tit café" ou "un p'tit verre" (a little coffee or a little glass of wine) sur le zinc (on the counter - which was originally made of zinc). I took this photo at L'Acajou des Volcans, a pretty nice restaurant located at 12 rue Coquillère (next to the famous Pied de Cochon at les Halles). Good food, good service and affordable prices, thanks to La Fourchette, the site you MUST go through if you come to Paris and want to chose - and book - a restaurant.

  1. Lovely photo of a lovely place. Does the existence of La Fourchette mean that I can't walk into a restaurant on a whim and order dinner? I hope not. I like wandering in Paris and happening upon a spot for a glass of wine and a meal.

  3. It doesn't look so much like un p'tit verre from this angle...more like un énorme verre. Anyway, it's a great shot. Beautiful color and composition.

And I see Longwell likes it too. So now we have not only anonymous spam, but also Bloggers created just to make spam comments that won't be filtered. I tried to find a way to report this but couldn't. Ahh, technology.

  4. Enjoying all the photos. Also have a question regarding La Fourchette...if you happen to book dining venue that is showing a discount, do they know in advance to reduce the price when providing you with the bill? Thanks for your help.
