The tourist season!

The photo is not really good and I surely don't have the intention to make fun of this charming lady, but when I saw her on top of the Champs Elysées, I could not help but smile... I don't know where she's from exactly - probably central Asia or Thibet - but she certainly beats all these fancy Parisiennes with her style! Maybe not the easiest piece of garment to wander on the Champs Elysées, though, but who cares! Welcome in Paris, Madame...

    1. No we don't! Besides, France (and Paris) is the most visited country in the World, I read, so if we did not like tourist, we would have a real problem!!

    2. That's nice to hear! When we were there we kept having to tell people we were Canadian. Of course, that was 2006 and things were different...

  2. What´s wrong with the style of fancy Parisiennes?
    What´s "better" with her style?
Do you think, the style of Parisienne would enjoy as much appreciation in her maybe Tibetian village as you appreciate her style in Paris (in the name of whom?)?
Could it be that her traditional style even is in its way bourgeois? (It probably is, by the way.)

  3. I have some young friends who are visiting Paris for the first time right now. They're hoping to look chic enough to blend in, they told me. But I think this woman stands out in the best way. Love her style!

  4. This woman is stunning and glamorous.
I'm thinking not of fashion but of crowds. It's the way I feel about Rose Parade season in Pasadena. It's fine, everyone's welcome. It's good for the city and I hope everyone has fun. But when it's over I'm relieved because I can use my regular routes again, find parking again, get a table at a restaurant again.

  6. Sorry, but this is a perfect example of why I haven't been in Paris in the summer for many years!! I will take Paris any time of year but keep away from the Champs-Élysées....and September, October and November are the BEST!! Of course I lived in a tourist city [San Francisco] for 37 years so I have been burnt out on tourists for a long time...
