Ghost of a chance...

Odd isn't it? There is no one under this shirt (or rather shirts for there are two), just a pole, like the many ones we have in Paris to prevent cars from parking on the sidewalk. How on earth did these shirts end up there, I will never know, but I really love the effect! Now I have to be frank I did not take this photo myself, but my friend Martine Castro did while she was wandering on the Boulevard Pershing in the 17th arrondissement. I, did not resist stealing it from her ;-) (with her permission).

  1. The effect of a ghost is fantastic, Eric ! I am glad you posted it. I was wearing a white shirt all the day which makes me smile even more :-) Ghost of a chance is a beautiful title for this post. I like it very much.

  2. Despite his many powers, Clark Kent could never remember where he left his civilian clothes when he had to dash off in a hurry...

  3. A little 'back to the future' story ... Maybe this is the previous comment I read before that made me think of that movie too... Wait, I am coming back in the future in two minutes :-)
    Don't try to fool me ;) You would have no excuse! Ok now that sounds really scary ... ! Sorry I am not sure I'll even get a smile on your face with this one... Maybe I am wrong, maybe I am right but don't blame me for I am only trying to be a Ghostbuster. O_o

  4. Looks like a photographic interpretation of the American idiom, “hung out to dry”

    1. I don't think they have a particular name : "un pylone" or "Poteau" we would say.

  7. Marathon leftovers???? :)
    I left - only a few days ago - some electric equipment, a pair of boots & a pumpkin at the street with notes: fully functionning, help yourselves - within an hour all got picked up .... (and I live in a rather well-to-do area). We will never know but surely those shirts went to good homes!!!

  8. Another Paris mystery! Seems your friend Martine may have her own (famous) perspective—rather the opposite of yours. :~}
