Bring back our girls!

I dont' like this photo too much (my fault!), but I like this installation! I found it at La République Square, where the former partner or our President (Valérie Trierweiler) and the new mayor of Paris (Anne Hidalgo) inaugurated it on july 27. Like you guessed it's an installation dedicated to the 220 Nigerian girls who have been abducted by Boko Haram, an islamist group about 100 days ago. These kinds of actions are good, because they help reviving their cause, while the news reporters are busy somewhere else...

  1. You make an excellent point, Eric. This story has dropped off the media radar, and those girls are still in great peril.

  2. Unfortunately there are so many places and situations that need remembering... Syria, Irag, Gaza, Armenia, Libya, Afghanistan, Ukraine, North Korea, ...

    1. I know... And this kind of event probably happens more than once, but this one made it to the western news.

  3. No, these kinds of actions are NO good, cause gives nothing.
Did Boko Haram give girls back? Of course no.
We can have as many actions as we want - it just make us feel better but it;s all. Sad but true,

    1. Yes, it makes us feel better. Probably because it's difficult to accept that we cannot do anything about this.

  4. If the world forgets about them, the Boko Haram wins for sure and they are truly doomed. But keep the focus on them and maybe, just maybe . . .

  5. It was headline news for a week or two and then it is like it never happened. The girls have probably been married off.
