Lovely photo. Lovely memory provocation.

Like Monica, I've taken both the day and night cruises, and I highly recommend both. A sunny day cruise is pure serenity in the middle of the busy city. At night, being on the boat while the ET is sparkling is magical. I saw my first sparkle from the deck - while Edith crooned La Vie En Rose over the loudspeaker - and I have yet to recover.

Great advice, Parisian Heart, to take a sunset cruise in order to experience both at once.

One more thing for those who haven't done it yet - don't be surprised if you get mooned by a naughty Parisian on the quai! When I lived in the Ile de France for a year, several friends came to visit me, and I ALWAYS took them on a Bateau Mouche (or Bateau Parisien) ride ... It offers one of the best quick (i.e. covers a large area in a short time -- wonderful for visitors who only have a short time in the city), yet relaxing views of Paris. I never, ever tired of these boat rides. My favorite time to board one of these boats was about a half hour or so before sunset. That way, I saw Paris by daylight one way and by night on the return trip. As a bonus, I saw gorgeous sunset views. Ah ... The first times I went to Paris, I didn't ride on the boats, but I've done that later. I've usually been in the cooler (or cold) seasons, and this night photo reminds me of walks I took by the river at night, especially the part on the right showing the buildings in the light. I don't know why I didn't take night photos. Maybe my hands were cold! This is great. Sorry if I goofed up this post.
