When you read this I'll probably be holding a baby over a Baptismal font or something, while eating some dragées (typical French candy you offer at christenings) and admiring the medal the Godmother and I have given to the baby! (See yesterday's post if you understand nothing to what I'm saying!). So let me show you a photo I took last week while I was having a drink with a fellow CDP blogger (Virginia from Birmingham DP - Alabama, not England) and a few other people like Peter (who also has a blog about Paris) at Café Brébant, a nice café near my home.
So this is where you went with Virginia! I'm sure you had a wonderful time, and I'm envious of her. Hope the baptism went well, and the baby didn't wail too much!
ReplyDeleteBTW—don't know who else was there, but even with just you and Virginia and Peter, that's a lot of blog talent in one place!
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
ReplyDeleteAfter looking at the cafe's site, I can't imagine what it is like to take a short walk from your home and end up having a drink in such an atmospheric place. In fact, that just sums up the entire city of Paris for me. Everything is just so....NEW here in PHX.
ReplyDeleteI read Virginia's blog the day after she met you and she was thrilled to meet up with you :-)
ReplyDeleteI will return to Paris, I will return to Paris, I will return to Paris. Now where did I put those darn ruby slippers. Great photo's.
ReplyDeleteJudy
hope the christening goes well - do the dragees arrive in pretty little net bags? I assume they are the same as the english ones - pretty coloured sugar candy enclosing an almond
ReplyDeleteI have eaten and drunk at Brebant - always mean to stay in the hotel but usually go back to my favourite one at the other end of Faubourg Montmatre
Well aren't you the sneaky one! When did you snap that ? It was great seeing you again Eric. And you are always so kind to remind me that my blog is your absolute favorite of them all each time we get together! I can hardly wait for your 5th Birthday party. I bought a very chichi dress for it in Paris. :)

PS Don't drop the baby in the font whatever you do!
Eric, it is your absolute duty to make photos of Virginia in her Chi-Chi dress! This is a must ... and at least one must be posted. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLove the shot. Know you must have had a great evening. One day, one day, I'll hope to meet you myself Eric. That would be such a treat.
ReplyDeleteToday, you are so near - Nice and only 40 mins away - yet so far when you are only here for a day or so and will be doing your Godfatherly duties and anyway I'm going to the Voeux of our village Mayor. One day... Weather so far is good but not sure we'll have sunshine to offer you unfortunately. One hopes.
Ummmm, who's paying for my return ticket to Paris for the party??? Anyone???
ReplyDeleteV
Congratulations Virginia to get dedicated time with Eric. Just one thing, did he pay? LOL
ReplyDeleteLove the ambiance you captured here Eric. Looks like you're standing on a chair or holding your camera up in the air. Not like the usual "Tenin perspective" we're used to.
By the way everyone, just a small reminder of Eric's Virtual (REAL) Birthday Party you can visit by clicking here! See Eric like you've never seen him before!
ReplyDeleteYou're on another roll Eric!! Last three days have all been great!! Especially love this one!! Sooooper!!
ReplyDeleteWow! A wonderfully creative shot.

so cool :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a very beautiful present and same as mine with the Godfather too :) The medal was written at the reverse with the firstname and the Christening day.
ReplyDeleteSee ahead far and strong with both of us, may it mean. Cheers!
This imparts such a feeling of warmth and comfort, with a little jigger of excitement mixed in. How lucky you all were to spend an evening together.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we'll get a photo of this godchild?
X marks the spot on the magic lamp. Sounds like it rubbed you the right way. Ahem. I hear this place serves up some good mojitos too. Glad you had a good time. BTW...Virginia's blog is jazzin too! But you already knew that.
ReplyDeleteMichael,
ReplyDeleteEric treated me the last time so we returned the favor at Brébant! And I do want to know where he was when he took the photo! I wish I'd given it a go myself!
BTW, I was just kidding about Eric saying he loved my blog best. He didn't come right out and say it ..., but i just know! :)
Hey everyone. A quick "coucou" before going to bed (I'm just back from Nice and I'm exhausted). Everything went well, I did not drop the baby (who's really cute BTW!) and I had too much food (of course!)
ReplyDeleteI'll read you comments tomorrow.
Ambient lighting really does make a difference in your perception of a place, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI truly adore this café! Been there the past 3 times I've visited Paris. Tugged at my heart when I saw this photo, beautiful.
