Choosing a book

The temperature has dropped again in Paris, so I'm a little reluctant to going out too far. That is why I took today's photo in one of these covered passages close to my home (this one is called passage Jouffroy). I saw this young lady picking up a book at this bookshop and I thought she could belong to an old painting or something. I debated whether to keep the black part on the left (it's actually the door to the passage) and finally kept it to emphasize the depth effect. Have a great weekend everyone. Stay warm ;-)

A fun way to visit Paris

If you're looking for a different way of visiting the Paris covered passages, here is a fun thing to do. Every Saturday and Wednesday (and more often during holidays), you can help Jean-Jacques de La Tour, solve a cold murder case (very cold, as it took place in 1870 in Le Passage Jouffroy!). Along the way you come across witnesses and clues... All this is fake of course and the witnesses are all actors (like this "Gavroche" that I photographed in this photo) and part of the L'enigme des passages couverts visit. The fun part is that I came across this tour by sheer coincidence, as I was going back home.

Canes

In one of the covered passages that I have, close to my home, there is one called Le Passage Jouffroy that I already mentioned here several times. It shelters many interesting places to visit (including the Musée Grévin (wax museum)) and a a stunning gallery of antique walking canes that I also already mentioned here, but a long long time ago. All the canes they have are really extraordinary (more photos here).
