Paris in the snow

It did not snow much inside Paris today, but enough to cover the streets (here le Boulevard des Italiens, right were the Olympia hall is) and make them slippery. It's funny to hear people talk about this bad weather as if it was exceptional. In fact, it's pretty common at this time of the year; I looked at last year's January 8th PDP photo and saw this... (not to mention the one of January 11th...). FYI, according to the Paris.fr site, there are on average only 15 snowy days per year in Paris (60 in NYC!) so it's easy to cope with them.

Paris Ghetto!

It's been several mornings that I've passed by this graffiti on my way to the office and every day I wonder who, on earth, could take the time to write "ghetto" on the sidewalk! Anyway, this morning I decided to take a photo, which, don't ask me why, I like a lot. Like in all big cities, in - or around - Paris, we also have areas that some consider to be ghettos. Generally, it's a word associated with poverty, but in the 80's, 3 famous French comedians made what could qualify as a rap song in which they made fun of 3 rich neighborhoods named Auteuil, Neuilly, Passy calling them "C'est mon ghetto" (it's my ghetto). Hard to get if you don't speak French, hilarious, if you do...

Freakin' computer!

Don't you wish you could do this to your computer sometimes?! I do... But this is not mine... I found it on the sidewalk close to my place and I could not help but take a photo or even imagine how it ended up there... Maybe an angry wife or husband who through her spouse's machine out of the window because they spent too much time on Paris Daily Photo!! Of course, like I mentioned last November, it is highly prohibited to leave any garbage - especially electronic parts - in the street.
