Inside the bus
It sounds amazing but in more that 2 years I never showed you any picture of our Parisian buses... (well apart from this one, but they don't run anymore...). So here is one from the inside. Not a fascinating shot, but I like the straight lines formed by the bars that prevent passengers from falling in the Parisian traffic! It's also a perfect photo to introduce the new PDP forum that I have been willing to launch for quite a long time. If you have comments or questions about Paris, well that is the place to post them (don't give up commenting on PDP though ;)).
Talk about Paris public transportation in the PDP forum.

Wow Eric! I feel like I'm there!
ReplyDeleteWhere are we heading?!
Errr... don't even remember when this one goes actually!. I think Hotel de ville, but I'm not 100% sure.
ReplyDeleteIf you enlarge the photo and view the plan at the front of the bus, it appears you are traveling somewhere between Clichy and Châtelet and beyond, so Hotel de ville is a perfect guess, Eric!?
ReplyDeleteNow, where did my comment go?!! Grrr...
ReplyDeleteI love these everyday, nothing-in-particular, Paris shots. Not that I mind an occasional piece of Eiffel Tower here and there, mind you ... ;)
Congratulations on the opening of the PDP official chatroom (and much much more, I'm sure). So is there gonna be a forum-warming party or something? :)
Ok I have enlarged the photo. I AM inside the bus and I'm enjoying the ride so much!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
What amazes me is to imagine you in a bus, Eric !!! How did you manage ? Didn't you get sick, didn't you fall at every stop ? Now to be honest Eric, can you sincerely you didn't get on at Provence-Drouot just to take this picture and get off at Carrefour de Châteaudun ?!!!
ReplyDeletePDP forum is certainly a good idea, will come back later to stay longer... Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteNasty GG, that is VERY nasty LOL. I do take the public transportation now that I have no more scooter nor motorbike. I just can't stand it that's all LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell, I've never gone by bus in Paris, the métro system is so phantastic. But nice to know; at least you see more of Paris when going by bus. perhaps next time I'll try.
ReplyDeleteAn acquaintance moved to Paris after retiring. He prefers the bus to the Metro because, as April notes, he can see more of Paris on the bus. And, being retired, he is not in a hurry.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Eric. I love the lines. Vertical bars. Triangles of the hand holds, echoed in the riders' triangular shapes. Duchamp would have painted the people as triangles.
And welcome back GG, a perfect nasty comment! Your holiday is over, Eric!
And thank you, Monica.
I do believe the only difference from this bus and the buses around here are the colors of the seats and the nice little safety straps hanging down that we don't have. I guess you Parisians are more likely to fall down? Or perhaps our bus company doesn't care if we do fall over!
ReplyDeleteYay forum! I'm gonna hop over there right now!
The bus is certainly better than metro-hell. Once you figure out the routes, it's easy too!
ReplyDeleteBravo on the forum Eric. I'm sure you'll have lots of interested people checking it out.
I enjoyed reading your blog. Keep it that way.
