More art!

I had a very busy day today but I managed to find some time to go to the opening of an art exhibit - a more conventional one, not like yesterday! The unusual part was that it did not take place in an at gallery, but... in the offices of Mac Allister, an executive search company located near the Opera and the famous Edouard VII area that I already mentioned here. I did not find a job there(!), but some very tempting pieces of art by Odile Gaslonde (in this photo) and Antoine Faure. I know the picture is hard to see in this photo, but it's on purpose!

  1. Now, if you could only find the missing pieces!
An appropriate post with the world of art in Paris in a tizzy over the missing works ...

  2. You're there for us even when you're busy—just so you know, I really appreciate that. Love what you've done with his photo (though Suzy is right!).

  3. Ahhh...if I'm not wrong, the technique used in this photo is 'Depth of Focus' which makes objects in the distant blur and vice versa. Did I get that right, Eric?

  4. Yes, the missing works Cynthia mentions--shocking news! I heard it today.

Thank you for delivering art to us every day, Eric.

  5. Hmm...I'd need to do some research to understand all this...but it's late at night and my last day of work tomorrow before vacation will be very busy. Well, add it to my world of ignorance! C'est ma vie!

  7. I know I would need to do a good and safe job to understand the Art world. And I really feel the urge for doing it. But saying that, I know I won't do it. Why ? Re Jeff ... My world of ignorance too, bigger day after day.

  8. I'm glad you included the lamp, Eric. It immediately reminded me of Wall-E. It's almost like the lamp's tilting its head and wondering what it all means.

  9. There are also some paintings in the Museum of Modern Art that are hard to see today. In fact, you can't see them at all anymore.

I think today's photo says 'art exhibition' without the need for any further words.

  10. So, does this mean the lamp is part of the art?

  11. @Drummond. Yes, incredible, I just read that! The alarm system was apparently broken (it had been broken for 2 months!") and they simply broke in and went away with a couple of Picasso, Braque, Matisse...
They say that they are too famous to be sold on the market though. I doubt they will return them once they realize it though...

  12. There are plenty of underground art dealings. They'll sell those paintings. If I had the means (and no conscience), I'd buy one!

  13. That's funny. I have to say that your particular style of art is much more to my liking, Eric! Great job!
