  1. Eric, I like the car but prefer to travel more under the radar than as a "tourist target." Cool shot of the gates of the Tuileries in the background. Cheers!

  2. I remember my very first trip to Paris. I was picked up at CDG in an old 2CV...

  3. Isn't this the perfect shot, or what? Never mind the guys playing bacci (spell?) ball, you have it all right here: you have the 2CV, quintessential French car, the guy with an "almost" beret, the two of them color coordinated in front of a major Paris landmark.. wow... AND you have a "75" number on the plaque (75 stands for "Paris / Ile de France). Ha!!!

No, I haven't taken the tour, damn, I haven't set foot inside a 2CV in too many years to count, lol, but I certainly applaud the guy who came up with this original idea and the entrepreneurship.

Enthousiastic thumbs up for this shot!!! :D

  4. Mouahhh, MDR, a 2CVC "cocorico?"!!! Hahaha!!! And by the way, if you blow up the picture you see the guy smiling at his phone. Is anyone texting him right now to let him know he's on PDP? ;)

  6. This reminds me, I actually saw a Smart Car in St. Louis last weekend! That was the first time I've ever seen one in person. My 2 friends with me thought it was a weird little car, but I was totally excited!

  7. Oh, yeah, the SMART is due to hit the US markets early 2008, they said. Great little city cars. Hope people like them. I sure am sick of sharing the road with SUV's the size of a Pepsi truck!

  10. Ah, the good old 'Tin Snail'. Not the quickest of cars. 0 to 60 in 2 weeks! But quite reliable and great for carrying long pieces of wood, as the roof just peels back.

  11. No, I haven't. But last week I spend my weekend in Paris en saw one of those deux chevaux. I didn't know it was some kind of guided tour. Very original!

  12. love the car but above all, would have loved the same blue sky!...

  13. Oh I know Tomate! I hope the Smart starts a revolution around here that finishes off the SUVs. I've heard that in the past few years the popularity of the SUV has been dwindling. I can only hope that in the next few years their time will be over and more cars like the Smart start popping up!

  14. Speaking of seeing a Smart car in the U.S., my neighbor has a Vespa! I've seen about three around town so far! Very unusal here but good to see.

And SUV's....ugh...don't get me started. I also read that their popularity is declining but I seem to see more and more around here. I hate them...especially when your car in parked between two of them (frequently)...you can't see to get out of your parking space.

I'm thinking of getting a Prius next time but wish it was a little bigger (to allow comfort for people in the back seat). Does anyone have any firsthand knowledge of a good hybrid? I sure would be interested in hearing about it.

  15. "SUVs the size of a pepsi truck" LOL

Amazing what you can do with a classic car, a paint job and a website.

  16. This would be a fun thing for the first-time visitor. It's an entertaining website, too. 20 Euros per person for 40 minutes is a bit dear for me, but the tour hits many great, famous spots. It would be very pretty at night, and fun to be in Paris traffic without the stress of driving.

This is a great photo, too.

  17. Tomate,

I was sure you would like this photo! I remember all of the comments you have made on the other 2CV cars.

  18. Well, Michael, you're right, I did :) I guess a 2CV is almost as good as a piece of Eiffel Tower for some of us ;) for others, well, the 2CV is something they would gladly enter in an ugly car contest ;)

  19. The 2CV rocks. I was the proud owner of one (my very first car) for a brief period, back in 1974-75.

This is a wonderful shot, Eric. Well worth clicking to capture every single one of its details, BTW.

  20. Hello everyone,

This is for sure the best Tour of Paris! You must do it!

The ride is so nice and our driver Sebastien was excellent, speaking great English and telling us a lot of fun anecdotes. The service is just perfect and the cars are very clean and safe!

I couldn't imagine how beautiful was the panoramic view inside the 2CV, with its open roof, its Magic!

And of course it is”THE” French Car!

You can stand up, feel the sensation, take pictures...

Thank you to Paris authentic for this great moment of pleasure!... back to the hotel my wife was so relax;)
