Nuclear rain
I always admire people who feel so strongly about their beliefs that they will do anything to alert the world. This is probably the case with this lady that I photographed yesterday morning on a rain-soaked Boulevard Saint Germain (6th arrondissement). She's an anti-nuke protester and the message on the banner shows a quote from the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice of 8 July 1996. It's funny but I just found out Ham from LondonDailyPhoto has another group of strong believers on his side of the Channel.

Eric, when I enlarged the photo (great view that way), I really noticed the FedEx van in the background. Do you think she has strong feelings about globalization as well? The street really looks slick as does her slicker (raincoat)!
ReplyDeleteThat really looks wet and chilly, reminds me of my other hometown, rain city Vancouver...;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteFirst snow, now rain, you Parisians have had a really bad week!
ReplyDeleteGreat detail in your photo. In the background there is the FedEx truck as well as a Photo shop, a bar, a cafe, and a plus symbol outlined in green. Any idea what the plus symbol means?
ReplyDeleteDenton, that's a pharmacy in France. Eric, superb shot, and perfectly captures the difference between Paris and London
ReplyDeleterain, rain.. today, rainy our location, too.
ReplyDeleteI love that shot, with the rain and everything!!! To me, it is quintessential Paris. Just add to it a Tobacco symbol sticking out of some place, a big red sign that says "metro," and a piece of the Eiffel Tower over the roof tops and you'd have Paris in your pocket! ;) (You can even see a Morris Column in the background!)
ReplyDeleteThis poor lady is going to need a very large bowl of hot soup when she gets home!
Nice shot and good of you Eric to stop by and bring us the entire scene.
It's funny Eric, I notice that everyone has avoided the whole nuclear comment. I thought when I saw this post it would be a quite heated one.
ReplyDeleteMichael: LOL, nope, won't touch that one with a 10-foot pole! :-)
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I love the picture, I really do. As far as I'm concerned, it's one of the 5 best ones I've seen on this blog.
Best regards from NY! » » »
