Following to the photo I posted yesterday here is an example of what they are doing in Paris in order to provide modern housing while keeping old facades. This one belongs to an old hotel (called
Hotel de France, as you will see if you look more closely on the facade) and it is located on
Boulevard de la Villette in the 19th arrondissement.
Great way to maintain the feel and warmth of old buildings while providing all he modern amenities.
ReplyDeleteThat's what they do over here in Aussie-land too! Some buildings are 'heritage listed' and builders/owners are not actually allowed to change the facades. So they keep the shell, and refurbish all the inside. I agree with Rock, it's a great way to maintain a rustic ambience!
ReplyDeleteHehe. The French are so clever.
ReplyDeleteNo Charlus, you're right, the weather is pretty bad at the moment. At least we do not have a heat wave!
ReplyDeleteLousy weather in San Francisco, as well. This morning, it was raining a little.)
Another great picture, Eric, thank you very much. It's a real pleasure to visit your blog!

Thanx T.
ReplyDelete> Marc.
