April Fools' day
Hey there! Today is a theme day (a mailbox in your city),but it's also April fools' day so I thought of republishing (very exceptionally!) a photo that I took in November 2005. As for me I'm away for the day (Normandy again) and I wish you an excellent Sunday.
65 Daily Photo sites are participating in the 1st April theme, "A Public Mail Box", please use the links to below to visit them. Due to time zone differences and other factors, the theme photo may not be displayed until later if you are viewing early in the day.

Pretty cool. Eric!!
ReplyDeleteHi Eric, nice smile! Your blog is great, how do you keep up with all your adoring fans?!
ReplyDeleteGreat smiley, Eric!
ReplyDeleteIt's April fool in Sydney too.
Enjoy the weekend away!
hey, what a smiley post box:) Have a nice day...! ;)
ReplyDeleteMerci Eric!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the first of the month because of the themes. I will keep a close eye on the postal boxes now. I know of 2 or 3. It is a good project/exercise for me.
It is still to early to see those the participated. Singapore's photo of the postal boxes is fun.
Great photo, I like the lines.
(saw The Lookout and Reign on Me
enjoyed both)
I'm glad you republished it Eric cause I didn't know your blog back in 2005.
ReplyDeleteHow appropriate this mail box seems for today! It's April's fool day here too, I almost forgot it.
I've never seen such a nice mailbox, it must bring letters with only good news in it!!!
Happy April Fool's Day, everyone! And happy anniversary to my mother and step-father, even though they wont be reading this. It's their 1st anniversary! We'll be spending the day scouting out the place my little sister's wedding and reception will be next month!
ReplyDeleteMonica
ReplyDeleteI like your thoughts on this happy mailbox:
I've never seen such a nice mailbox, it must bring letters with only good news in it!!!
Eric: For me, you are a personal Doisneau (did I spell it right?),keeping your eyes open and catching the exceptional for your fans. Got a kick out of the mailbox.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant one Eric! Hope you have a great day in Normandy.
ReplyDeleteHappy April Fool's Day Eric and everyone. Or as the French call it, Possion d'Avril.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to going around the world on the portal to see what everyone has posted.
...ever heard of SAINT MARTIN d'ABBAT (45 Loiret, région Centre)?
ReplyDeletethis French village is dedicated to "customised" private letter-boxes.
tour it in the summer-time or attend its festival...

by the way Michael, to-day is "poisson" d'avril day;
your possion can't swim!!! and furthermore dreadfully sounds like "potion" which,of course, nobody would dream of gobbling today...
for when you "gobez un poisson d'avril" you definitely are "April Fool"...
Thanks Janet! I misspelled poisson! Gurgle gurgle...
ReplyDeleteHappy days are here again!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely smile
ReplyDeleteIdée sympathique, mais leurs nombreux retards me font souvent rire jaune...;-) Bon dimanche, Eric.
ReplyDeleteIf postboxes had sexes would this one be mail?
ReplyDeleteI apologise...
hahaha funny neorelix
ReplyDeleteAnd a great post!
what a great smiley mailbox Eric.
ReplyDeletehave a great day yourself.
aprilili...
Photo parfaite pour les 2 thèmes du jour !!
ReplyDeleteWhat a happy postbox. I wish my postbox would smile at me when I go to post a letter... would be even better if it would say good morning and compliment me on my hair! :)
ReplyDeleteSmiles and smiley faces....what the world needs now is more of them. Happy April Fools' Day to all! Great mailbox photo, Eric. I am watching last night's Symphonic show contra le sida. Line Renaud gave the introductory speech. She is so grand.
ReplyDeleteVery cute indeed. Enjoy your Sunday.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Glad to see it's not another red or British mail box! Bon Dimanche.
ReplyDeleteNice smiley face. Tell me you did not photoshopped or actually draw it with black maker by yourself. Well whoever did this, this is somehow nice and give some people smile, that is sure.
ReplyDeleteWhat a smily mailbox!
ReplyDeleteHave a happy normanday weekend :-)
How cute!
ReplyDeleteWere you the one who drew the smile on the mailbox? I sort of re-posted a photo once also. With our realizing until after the fact I took and posted a photo of the same band playing at the same location one year apart. It would have been interesting had there been a difference but looking closely I realized they had not changed a thing ... enjoy your trip.
ReplyDeleteAs long as the bills don't get any ideas to multiply while in there I'm ok. A clever find indeed.
ReplyDeleteEric, did you DRAW that graffiti on the mail box? I am going to report you to the police. :-)
ReplyDeleteOooh... and what goes on in Normandy, Eric. These sojourns are getting me curious and i bet i'm not wrong? Do tell!
ReplyDeleteGreat smailey face
Lynn...you are so perceptive. I am sure it has something to do with an older woman!
ReplyDeleteI have finished each and everyone of the theme day posts, can I please now get something to eat and shower? lol
ReplyDeleteI have been April Fooled twice, once with Naples (disclaimer: I am blond and it was really only for a second) and one more I won't say so someone else may be fooled.
ALL the photographs were great and far from boring. I enjoyed the different angles, the framing, all were brought to life by the photographer. The smells, the sounds of the street, the heat and the cold. I enjoyed my travels today. If I were not faint from the lack of food I would copy and paste a bravo on each and every site!
BRAVO! MAGNIFIQUE!
Such a happy little box! Neorelix: this box must be "femail" because she's got that cute little beauty mark on the left side!
ReplyDeleteNeorelix: male box ... ROFL!!! Funny!
ReplyDeleteNeorelix/PontGirl/Tomate...LOL
ReplyDeleteI just got it. Looking at all of these mailboxes on blogs has really slowed me down.
Haxo, I've never heard of Cabourg but the link you left looks nice.
I never noticed that it is written PosteS with an S on the end. It seems strange because I can not imagine us writing MailS here in the USA.
ReplyDeleteNeorelix/Pontgirl: can't let that go unless I also say that you both put a smile on my face.
ReplyDeleteThis is a winner - you not only get the theme, April Fool's day and a big smile.
ReplyDeleteQuite Michael, a little experience goes a long way ;) lol!
ReplyDeleteWell, Eric I thought that smile looked familiar...LOL!! It is just as great a photo the second time around! Wait, isn't that a song or something?? The TheSecondTimeAround
ReplyDeletejohnny...since you are such a Marlene Dietrich lover...I need to tell the story about my father and Marlene Dietrich! You'll love it!
Kpgallant, Tell me, tell me...Jwp3937@Yahoo.com....Put Dietrich in the subject box, please.
ReplyDeletePerfectamente, Eric! I love seeing this great image again. Made me smile back. Hope your Sunday on the coast was refreshing and put a smile on your face, too. Have a lovely week!
ReplyDelete-Kim
It's a great smiley mailbox, Eric! Made me smile as well. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMichael: understood! It took me a long time to get through most of these mailboxes (I guess theme day is a lot of work!!) but well worth it! Thanks to all of you guys for doing that! :)
