Hotel Everland
Despite what you may think the important part in this photo is not the statue in the foreground, nor the impressive columns of the Paris modern art museum in the background but the green "capsule" on top of the building. And do you know what it is? A piece of art and... a hotel room!
Yes, people, if you're looking for a - very original - place to stay in Paris, well you have until December 31, 2008 to book this room. Needless to say that you have to be very patient, for they only allow bookings 2 months in advance, in order to give everyone a chance... Give me your feedback if you do it! Find out everything about the Everland hotel here.

It looks like the top of my grandparents' camper from back in the '70's!!
ReplyDeleteI read about this hotel in the papers last month.
ReplyDeleteParis is way too cool!!!!
Just a quick comment while the "virtual visit" is loading in the background: I just can't imagine having to drag my suitcases, laptop and all, all the way up there! How does one get up there anyway?! Just curious :)
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I've seen it while walking in Paris and I wrote a post about it...
ReplyDeleteIt is said to have a mini-bar but I'm wondering if they deliver food to the "room" :)
There must be a huge waiting list. Certainly different lol.
ReplyDeleteTalk about a room with a view!
ReplyDeleteI saw this futuristic looking pod in a German blog. At that time it was on the roof-deck of a museum in Leipzig. In the daytime viewers could browse from the outside, but at night it was reserved for guests only. It is pretty cool, but I'm too traditional and way too much on a budget to book it for myself. I'd imagine not a good idea for sleepwalkers either? ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, we are going to sleep there on the night of December 25th. So, I'll put a post on the subject here : http://monjournalpasintime.blogs.marieclaire.fr/
ReplyDeleteFor those who have difficulties to book, well, you have to insist, but it is possible. Patience!
That is so awesome! Thank you for telling us about it. And Virginie- I am SO envious!! You are very lucky to have gotten Christmas night- with a view of the best sparkling Christmas "tree" in the world...
