Paris Photo

Every year the International Paris Photo show takes place at the Carrousel du Louvre. I don't always go, but this year, a visitor to PDP who happened to be in Paris,  invited me to join him there. It's a beautiful exhibit, with lots of fantastic photos (and some less fantastic!) in a perfect environment. It would have been far too easy to take a photo of a photo to post today, so instead let me offer you a little piece of the press office. I did not plan to use it really, but after I blew it up a little that's the one I thought was the best.

  1. I'm very surprised not to see the regular commenters here yet. Eric, this photo is very unusual, but very interesting too. And I'll bet that the photo show was pretty interesting too. I love coming here every day to see the latest little bit of Paris.

  2. It's the WE, Joanna, give us a break, eh! :)

I like this shot. The grid works real well, I think.

Tall Gary, thank you for your visit yesterday. :)

  4. LOVE the way you framed this, Eric! Are you going to tell us who you went with? If he's a visitor to PDP it must be someone we know.

  5. I like the photo as well. (Though the mole is still keeping it from enlarging to full size!) It's arresting - looks like a commentary on photojournalism.

  8. I like it, Eric. I think I'd have enjoyed the exhibit, too.

Joanna, you're a regular now, you've passed the initiation! Woohoo! Yeah, a little slower at le weekend, I guess.

  9. It looks fascinating. I'm glad you went to the exhibit.

Me...here I am with two tickets to the Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Extravaganza on Sunday night and no date. Definitely pitiful.

    Beudeu geu deu. Pfff.

  12. I have the same problem enlarging the photo, too, Carrie. I would like to see what the pictures and artcles contain.
Guess I will be content with the Modrian-like composition!

  15. Eric, When I click on the photo, it doesn't enlarge to the full screen size -- only about a third. Is this a user error? :-s Or, did you mean it to be that way?

  16. Eric...a photographer's slice of heaven. Definitely a cool tradition. Jeff, tickets to Brian Setzer Orch. and no date? The world is going crazy man. It's nice there are still those like Brian carrying the torch of "fine" music along rather than those who are "torching" the music.

  17. Agree Coltrane...I was actually surprised that Brian Setzer was still around!

Lois, the photo doesn't enlarge more probably because it is a small photo from the origin.

  18. Joanna is right! Where were you people?! ;-))

@Alexa. His name is Mark, but I don't think anybody knows him. He was on vacation in Paris with his wife and probably thought that I would be interested in visiting the show. He was right ;-) Thank you Mark!

@Carrie, Lois... In fact it's not the mole... It's me. I "cheated" with this photo which was actually much larger than that. I had to resize it to suit my taste. Sorry for that.

    @Jeff. LOL!! Beudeu geu deu...

@Lynn "I wondered if you'd go, Eric!" I did not see much of it actually as I was busy talking with Mark!

I'm just back from my weekend in Le Perche and I am very tired (that is what happens when you go out of Paris to get some "rest"!) Off to my bed now ;)
