Dinner at "Bon"!
I had dinner at Bon's last evening, one of these restaurants conceived to attract "the rich crowd". They all use the same recipe: nice location (16th arrondissement), nice decor (by Starck, whose else?!), theme cuisine (Asia something), pouting waiters and priceless prices... In the end the experience was not that bad, after all ; the food is really "bon" (bon means good in French) and the atmosphere was a nice change from Mc Donald's! Shame I did not get to see what makes Bon's pride: its library, nor its fireplace nor its wine room. Maybe next time...

Interesting :)
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh, Eric! And I refuse to believe that you ever eat the stuff that passes for food at McD.
ReplyDeleteJudging by the table setting -- it looks like you were early for a dinner party. No.?
ReplyDeleteYay, Yay, Yayyy!!! I love photos like this.."slice of life" as I say...especially tables set for dinner!! I am sure you all remember the one of the group dinner set outside with all the glasses turned upside down..another favorite. I wonder how long ago that was??? Huhhh??
ReplyDeleteAh, oui, pas mal, pas mal. Sheesh. Life is sooo difficult sometimes...
ReplyDeleteEric: are going to answer Alexa or wait for somebody else, like a certain American expat?
You make it look appetizing, Eric. But I've never heard of a restaurant with a library, that's unique.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine description of a posh restaurant- including the "priceless prices"!
ReplyDeleteFirst time i make myself visible here, i 'm a happy long time lurker who enjoys immensely this beautiful city through your wonderful pictures- thanks!
Ah the 16me! Land of Elderly Ladies walking their poodles while wearing Chanel! I find it a little scary quiet there at night. I prefer the Marais. Tell me Eric, did you ever try the Fois Gras Burger at Quick?!? Delicieux!!!! :)"
ReplyDeleteBon!
ReplyDeleteWhat else?!
;-)
Une adresse que je note. Beau standing. J'aimerais bien avoir l'occasion d'y aller à titre professionnel par exemple et en bonne compagnie (...).
Flore

ReplyDeleteYou had me at "library" and totally got me at "fireplace"! Love, love, love the idea!! :) Sounds like it is a little much for the pocketbook, but worth it in memories.
ReplyDeleteI thought it said Kong, the restaurant that was featured in Sex in the City. Send me back to remedial reading.
ReplyDeleteI judge an unknown restaurant by the table setting.....so this looks enticing.
Quite the sleek design. I am trying to figure if those are stools to sit on.
ReplyDelete@Alexa "And I refuse to believe that you ever eat the stuff that passes for food at McD" Er...
ReplyDelete@Lois Simon "Judging by the table setting -- it looks like you were early for a dinner party. No.?" Yes! A 7 people dinner - 6 working in the television business!
@Tonton. " I am sure you all remember the one of the group dinner set outside with all the glasses turned upside down" I do, but I've been unable to find it. that's what happens when you publish - almost - 6 years of photos!!
@Jeff. "like a certain American expat?" This expat was not part of the dinner!
@Petrea " But I've never heard of a restaurant with a library, that's unique." Really? We have quite a few here - but not big ones. This comment reminds me of this!
@Dodo "First time i make myself visible here, i 'm a happy long time lurker who enjoys immensely this beautiful city through your wonderful pictures- thanks!" Well, welcome. Good one for a first!
@Beau Gosse. "Tell me Eric, did you ever try the Fois Gras Burger at Quick?!? " I did (I even posted a photo of it) see here.
@Flore. Tiens c'est vrai ça, y longtemps qu'on n'a pas déjeuné ensemble...
@Anonymous "(: ˙ʇı ǝʌol ı ˙ʇdǝɔuoɔ ǝɔ lɐıuǝƃ ʇsǝ,ɔ" how dod you do that??
@PHX-CDG. Yeah Bon or Kong, same thing!!
@Lydia "Quite the sleek design. I am trying to figure if those are stools to sit on." Yes they are.
I'd love a library in a restaurant! But if they're going to start putting them in McDonald's, I'll never see them!
ReplyDeleteIf I were still blonde, I might take offense...
I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with extra information.
