Here are some more Christmas decorations... You can see them almost everywhere in Paris at the moment and they look pretty cool and festive, especially towards the end of the day when it starts getting dark... And who had this "brilliant" idea? A chic clothing chain store? The Paris town hall? A plant store? All wrong! It's Mc Donald's of course LOL! For the record, I took this photo at lunch when... Yes, when I grabbed a Chicken Ceasar salad at a Mc Donal'ds restaurant near me!

I love how the city goes all out for Christmas like this. I was impressed to see that the McDonald's near my hotel in Paris last year sold macarons, but I didn't feel compelled to buy any because I thought it could not possibly compare to those at Laduree!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year, Eric! I am so thrilled that you have shown so many photos of the ET! ET!! ET!!! this month, yet so sad to hear of your friend's son's fate. These are the things that serve to remind us to say "I love you" every day of the year, and not just during the holidays.
ReplyDeleteI love you, PDP!!
(And Michael, this time it really is me.)
"I love you PDP"...a perfect time to wish Happy New Year to all the consistent blogging friends I...we... have grown to love, and especially Eric, who made it possible, by being the Godfather of all daily photos. Happy New Year to the people trolling in the background , too.
ReplyDeleteNow to the picture. Never saw a decorated McDoo in the US.
Hey - I think those are really nice! Way to go MacDonald's.
ReplyDelete@Monnica - I don't know if you've bumped into these, but I bought two cookbooks as gifts this year which may interest you...LaDuree Sucre and LaDuree Savory. BTW - not to tempt you, or anything - Sucre has their macaron recipe inside!!
HAPPY NEW YEARS GUYS !
ReplyDeletewow i never seen such a beautiful artificial tree ever
MCX Today
I would never have thought that McDonalds would come up with something this pretty - only in Paris I think.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful, Eric. Too bad you didn't catch them on in the evening; I can imagine how brilliant they would look!
ReplyDeleteAnd McD's can be surprising--there is one in NYC that has a baby grand piano where classical music is played and it is just lovely.
Must be only the big cities get the "nice" side of McD's. :) I have to admit a weakness for one of their double cheeseburgers every few months, but otherwise, I can cook SO much better. These trees are lovely though!
ReplyDeletePS Where can you find the "Love" button on the PDP? :)
Take your pleasure where you find it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie - I will order them from Amazon pronto! I miss not working in the same building as you anymore... it was fun to share our Paris books!
