Betty Boop visits Paris!

I really don't know why someone made posters of Betty Boop and posted them on the walls of Paris, but here is one of them, that I found near the BHV (Bazar de l'hôtel de ville) department store. Maybe in a few days we will discover it's simply an ad campaign! Anyway I thought it would be a nice Sunday photo, even though it's not very Paris centric, nor even French! FYI Betty Boop is an animated cartoon character created by Max Fleischer that appeared for the first tim on August 9, 1930! [Uptade] Doh! I did not even notice that Betty had the body of Marilyn! There must be something going on with these two ladies, as I also found this.

  1. Looks like Betty Boop's head but Marilyn Monroe's body (from the famous scene from "The Seven-Year Itch"), and I don't know whose legs (but I'll bet that all will be revealed soon). BTW, that dress was sold at auction last year for $5.5 million!

  3. Fred Astaire's legs ... or perhaps even Michelle Williams' ... but I think that film sunk with nary a trace.

  4. Maybe in her dreams, oh wait, Betty came first. Either way, good to notice something new and interesting.

  5. MM’s 7-meters statue and weighting 20,000-kilos was on display in Chicago on the Magnificent Mile since last July until this past Monday. The statue now is on its way to Palm Springs, Cali. Scheduled to stay there for a year.
The sculpture Is Seward Johnson’s depicting Marilyn Monroe in her famous “The seven Year Itch” atop-a-subway grate stance. http://youtu.be/D_tYzpt2B2c
