Sewers shelter for sale...


Here is a little “place” I love. It’s located off the rue des Pyrénées in the 20th arrondissement and it really looks like you’re in a village. The shelter on the foreground (where it’s written “Service des Égouts”) belongs to the town sewer services (you can see the coat of arms of Paris above the two doors) leads to several halls, including a superb vaulted one. The place is apparently for sale, but I have been unable to check this info.

    I bet I can't afford to even live in that sewer for sale, everything is so expensive for Americans! The atmosphere is so beautiful around it. I am saving up my money!

    PHX, I thought you already are living in Paris! After London, that is. Hmm. I'll have to contact you and catch up.

    Maybe if a few of you Parisiens pitch in, you can buy this (underground?) hall and escape the heat.

    Looks like a beautiful plaza. The architectural style of the sewer services building is lovely! A lot of today's buildings are so stark-looking, by comparison.

    Wonder if I can open a window, set up a counter and put an awning over the front door and sell expresso! Or hang geraniums from the windows! If I can do all that, I would love to buy it!

    @Vreni "This square looks very nice! And I love the blue window shutters in the background." Yes it's a cool square. Funny, I'm on vacation now so I'm seeing this photo again on a different computer and it looks much lighter than when I posted it on my computer from home...

    @Phx2cdg Hey PHX, where are you? "I bet I can't afford to even live in that sewer for sale, everything is so expensive for Americans!" It's expensive for the French too! And you're right this probably costs a fortune because of the halls underneath what you see. Besides it's all "classé", which means you cannot change anything (except a new layer of paint of course).

    @Jeff "PHX, I thought you already are living in Paris! " I know, it's hard to keep up with PHX isn't?! But no, one thing I'm almost sure of; she does not live in Paris anymore!
