Watching the game...

There was an important football/soccer game yesterday evening (France against Ecuador) and about 2/3 of the French population must have been watching it! Since the weather is really nice at the moment a lot of restaurants and cafés have installed big screens and chairs on their terrace, like in this photo that I took on the Grands Boulevards around 10:30 PM. I love the old guy on the right, taking advantage of the screen while leaning on a garbage can! Only football can bring so many people that much together.

  1. Cafes, bars, and restaurants are airing the games here as well. Even in some office buildings.

  2. Great shot, Eric! Saw part of a match this way (through the window of a bar) in NYC. But may I just say, "Allez les Bleus!"

    1. They are part of the 16 teams for the knockout stage when the real fun starts ( the drama queens on the pitch, the divers, the cheaters and the elbow strikers w/o forgetting the tackles - legit or not).
After that, we will have the quarter finals ( possibility ??? for France to meet Germany).

  4. Well done France. As for the England team, they would have been more suited to playing at that comedy club in your photo although there was nothing funny about their performance - if you are an England fan that is!
OK, Scotland didn't even make it to the finals in Brazil......

    1. I'm surprised actually that England (and Italy for that matter) already left the competition. Ah well... it's just a game right?! Allez les Bleus (just sayin'!)
