You all know the joke right? "Is there a 4th of July in France?" Well yes, there is, and it's today! Only we don't celebrate it like Americans do... On this blog though, since a lot of my visitors are from the US, I usually try to take a photo that has some kind of connections with North America! I happen to have had dinner at HD Diner yesterday evening, and everything there looks American (except the prices: a small Bud costs... 4,90 €!), so I thought this could be my 4th of July tribute!
Quite a good mix, and appropriate for the Yanks!
ReplyDeleteAnd it is our turn to thank the French, specifically, Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette (known to Americans as Lafayette), for aiding us in the Revolutionary War.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your thanks :) well, even if I did not do a lot, myself, I did the only French part ! For instance, I'll take the French's classic yellow in the photo ;-)
DeleteHAPPY 4th to all !
There is the annual celebration on the 4th of July at the Picpus Cemetery in the 12th arrondissement :

You have had the chance to return us the favor since then Sasho! (But thank you...)
DeleteAh the US contributions to world cuisine !
ReplyDeleteLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
DeleteWell Happy 4th of July to you too, Eric!
ReplyDeleteMerci Tamera!
DeleteA happy 4th of July to all the lovely people across the pond. Hope that the French football/soccer team also have a happy 4th of July this evening!
ReplyDeleteYeah, let's not talk about this will ya?!
DeleteEric,
ReplyDeleteGreetings from across the Big Pond.
Thank you for thinking of us and what a funny tribute to Les Etats Unis! Sorry for the football loss; France has so many fans here in USA. Enjoy your fine Blog almost daily.

Merci Diane. I'm sorry for the game too... But C'est la vie !
DeleteHappy 4th to you too, Eric! Your photo is a hoot (and reminds me that this is the day I allow myself to eat a nasty but delicious hot dog). Actually, it's pouring down rain here -- not exactly bbq weather -- but should stop in time for tonight's fireworks.
ReplyDeleteReally? Like a storm? It's generally super hot and sunny in NYC in this season.
