Nina Ricci dress

Let's start the week with a very "girly" post! Last weekend I went to Le salon du Vintage, an exhibit dedicated to clothes, objects and furniture from the 70's (and a bit from the 80's too...). It was really good but I only found the the time to select the best photos I took there today. Anyway, I chose to post this dress by Nina Ricci (sold by En ville-Vintage in the 11th arrondissement) on PDP, but you can find more photos of the event on the making of.

114 comments:

  1. The dress is a little too much but I absolutely love the pink. I'm a girlie girl, love anything in pink.

My favourite perfume for a while now is anyone from Nina Ricci. At the moment the one I'm wearing is Love in Paris.
    Yes, in Paris.

  2. Lynn: I was on my way to get a cup of coffee too and accidentely stopped here.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh! Monica you got here first! Well i was rather busy in the end you see, so had something else...to do...! Well done he he. I wasn't waiting at all...

Yes the pink's too bright but the design is very pretty. I don't like the huge bow. It would have to be a big occasion for that big bow.

I also love pink but much paler. This is deeper than Barbie pink! I'd love to know where it has been worn.

  4. Slightly off topic (but not completely since all of you are speaking English admirably) - It is our news in the UK today that foreign language exams will soon have NO ORAL exam - because it is thought to be too stressful. Oh please. I am embarrassed enough that so few English speak other languages. Surely now we must be a laughing stock to all of you? - I am cringeing and wish to disassociate myself from this proposal. It is ridiculous. Blush.

  5. My favorite color! Think Pink!
I agree with Lynn & Monica - dress is a little too crazy for modern day, but I think I could pull that jacket off with some cute jeans and some platform strappy sandals!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Congrats, Monica Brazil, your continent won first place, today.
Oh la la, what a dress. Look at the combo of textures. I would look like a stuffed pink sheep in that jacket, Pont girl!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh, I love your "girly-girl" photo today! Yes, this is pinkness extreme-ness, but the style is way cute (and the fluffy coat too). It reminds me of something from Project Runway, a fun little show for design addicts. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  8. Lynn and Phx, we keep fighting to see who will make it first here but Eric never really gaves us any prize.

My guess is that he is laughing at us, not with us!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Great color for a lipstick!

    ReplyDelete
  10. How pink and fluffy and definitely girly! :-D

    ReplyDelete
  11. You know, I think I'd wear it. Without the jacket and without the bow. With black spike heels. Against my better judgment.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Lynn, vraiment, tu es correcte.

Et parler est plus facile d'écrire.

Je suis une example parfait. Je parle français superbement (ah! comme un rêve!), mais l'évidence n'existe pas dans m'écriture.

  13. Eric
Thanks so much for finding a photo to match the shoes I posted last night! It is gorgeous!

    Petrea
It also matches the blouse you are wearing now... :)
    I love the colour...

    Monica
Maybe Eric is too shy...or he is just too kind to break hearts.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Je découvre ce blog à l'instant, très jolies photos...
Et cette robe rose, very french.
    Congratulations !

    ReplyDelete
  15. LOL Phx: I was thinking that too - i'd look like a huge ball of pink puff! Ugh.
Monica yes i think Eric is certainly giving us all the runaround with timings! We love it though...
Petrea: votre francais ici, c'est chouette!

    ReplyDelete
  16. it looks a bit like hanging on its own ... a very chic ghost of course

but i am sure when the dress was worn for real it turned every men's head specially in paris

    ReplyDelete
  17. I wouldn't imagine me, even not a second, in this dress ... that would be a disaster!!! It is exactly the kind of dress that only very slim women could wear, without looking like a ... turkey!

I would see small, slim and dark hair women in it! Arletty for instance could have worn it but I bet pink was not her favorite color.

BTW, I am not sure men do like this kind of girly dress ? Maybe I am wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'm housebound today...President's Day in USA.There may be a PDP fastest finger fight spanning 3 continents(that I know of) this evening.....

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lynn: Merci! (I had to look up chouette.) I've bookmarked a couple of sites where I can practice. PDP has inspired me.

    ReplyDelete
  20. A little too pink for me! But, I do have some Nina Ricci perfume called L'Air du Temps! One of my favories!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I love the dress.
Anonyme: Man are attracted by confident girls and not what they wear. That dress would make me feel lovely, girly and slightly naughty...perfect :)

I love Nina Ricci and I love the strong and bright colours from her latest collection. Rose thanks for the link for those shoes.

    ReplyDelete
  22. talking about naughty...
Eric, would you like me to wear the dress for our date?
Unlike Lynn, I would look lovely in it!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Anne, thank you, I am learning so many things here! Confident girl yes that is THE key... whatever what I am wearing... Yes ! But, NO! with this dress, cannot be possible! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anonyme, you need to come out with me! We can stop at Rose's and borrow some of her shoes (just found out that she has over 150) and I will take you partying...
I promise you after a minute or two in the dance floor you will forget all about the colour of your dress.
Petra, fancy coming too? I am sure they have chairs! And pain killers!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Rose, just like Lynn said, we love everything Eric does.
Remember what Phx said a few days ago, we are his groupies and we´re not ashamed to say it!

Phx, you said it right, 3 continents that we know of, but I bet many people here secretely participate in the contest too!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Anne, I'll hop a plane to Paris immediately. As soon as I find a pair of sensible shoes. And a credit card. Hmm. My husband seems to have anticipated...

Sweetie? Want to go to Paris?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anne, LOOOOOOL !
Dance floor, why not, but I will leave you the beautiful dress and Rose's shoes because I am a really good friend!!!
You know, actually I am working for your next date with ... ahem ... who you know ;) Shhh there are many hidden competitors here!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anne that made me laugh out loud! Actually you're welcome to the candy floss confection. For me, it's too barbe a papa!

Ok Phx; i'm ready! Provided i'm not stuck in the car lol.

Petrea, there's another French lesson blog listed at mine in the sidebar. Bonne chance!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Is Eric on his way back from Le Cimetière Picpus?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Lynn, I get so nervous at showtime, I misspell.
Oops! I let them see me sweat.
Oh yes, Lynn,I'll see you tonight provided YOUR computer doesn't CRASH.
What will be Monica's excuse if she loses?I heard she has been getting ready for tonight by running up and down Corcovado Mountain.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Does Eric make house-calls?

    ReplyDelete
  32. You see Eric, these girls are all very ungrateful. I am the only one who loves the dress you gave us.
    They don't deserve you, Eric.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Paris and its dresses...An other place, and other time.

    ReplyDelete
  34. ...and who will prevail? The suspens is getting nerve-racking

    ReplyDelete
  35. ... I am putting my money on our friend from Brazil [!]

    ReplyDelete
  36. LOL Pierrette

Phs and Lynn this is getting pretty serious, there's money envolved now.

Phx don't forget the Sugar Loaf mountain. I'm beggining to sweat too.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Be careful girls, Anne will win if she continues in this way to talk to Eric! React!

This robe is lovely, unwearable but lovely!

Petrea and Lynn it's nice to see you speak French. More you will practice more you'll be good. Look at me!;)
This idea to stop the oral exams sucks, nothing better than the oral to make progresses. And to have the right accent of course. Look at the French people, they never practice oral in highschool and their accent is so horrible!

But I'm sure Eric has a great accent.

    ReplyDelete
  38. "nothing better than the oral to make progresses"
I agree with guille, oral is very good for one's accent.
That's why Monica, NO not our monica, the other famous one, had a very good accent, she practiced her oral with Bill. Well it must be told Bill was a very good teacher because he had a lot of experience.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Quite, Guille; it's ridiculous here in the UK. For many reasons.

he he Phx many a true word spoken in jest! My computer just froze and it continues to do so each time i upload photos. I now have to upload them using my son's pc and emailing them to myself! Phew. Fear not, though, the keyboard is still working.

he he see you all at... that time... will he be early? will he be late? Maybe he'll be tied up at a house call at Camille's!

    ReplyDelete
  40. lynn, lynn, lynn, you are not fading away or are you?
Here in the city of lights, a new phase of the day is unfolding. The jazz complaints can be heard in the narrow streets, not as narrow as the one Eric photographed the other day, but lean and mean streets nevertheless, where the sound of horns can be heard, floating above the cobblestones. Ah Paris la nuit... The night people are waking up... The smell of unctuous cooking is permeating "les ruelles". Where are you Django when we need you? The night is young and Eric is late...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Primiere homme aujourd'hui!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I wondered where you were, Lynn.I guess you just came back from running up and down the abbey at Tewkebury.I myself, have been getting in shape at Camelback mountain.(That will be the day!) If your computer freezes, we will have this thrilling challenge another time.
I feel it in my bones that Eric will not make this an easy win.

    ReplyDelete
  43. No, no, no, Jeffy, you must always make a comment on the picture even if you are to be first man of the day. (rule 17 page 56 of PDP challenges)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Let's analyze this competition:
Monica was in Paris last year, had the opportunity and didn't grab it.

Lynn claims to be shy. Eric is shy... so shy and shy take a long time to make things happen.

Of course there are a couple of others girls but they are not serious.

You are left with me me ;). Outgoing, intelligent, witty, with fantastic sense of humour, bubbly personality and adores Eric.

Come on! There is no competition!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Wow, what a difference a day makes - you ladies have been quite cheeky since I was last here! PHX, you could definitely pull off that pink coat, what are you talking about?? And Lynn, I think it's ON between you and Anne! That was quite a throw-down! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Anne
    You are so funny!

You forgot to add "modest" to your list of good qualities

    ReplyDelete
  48. I bet on Lynn!! :) The channel is not so hard to cross.
Monica, I think you're a little too far to built something serious.
    LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  49. LOL girls you certainly have one creative imagination.

Anne you make me laugh so hard. You are right, I was in Paris last year but I didn't stand a chance. But one thing I can confirm: Eric's accent is sooooo subtle, that's another of his charms.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Pierrette: quand j'ai etudiée la français en lycée, ma professeur à ma donnée la nom franaise. C'est Pierrette!

I'm sure I got an accent or two wrong there, but you get my drift. (I teach you American slang. Eric already knows it all.)

    ReplyDelete
  51. he he! I'm coming in here the day after to read your last comments having been stuck on the road last night! Anne you made me laugh so much.

Yes i'm quite shy but more than up to the challenge! he he. I'm just not sure if i can get to Paris - work is unsettled at the moment - no Anne i'm not making feeble excuses. By the way where in the world are you Anne? Please don't tell me you're in Paree? lol what fun all this is. Eric must be floating to work every morning on a cloud of compliments!

Where's Michael by the way? I miss him. Yes, he is just as charming ;)

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anne : "Eric is shy... so shy and shy take a long time to make things happen". LOL and true, i am afraid.

    ReplyDelete
  53. lol Rose, you were right... modesty is not my forte! I leave that to you English Ladies.

Lynn, I live in England but I was brought up in France and Italy and lived in many other places around the world.

Anonyme, How do you know about Eric's shyness? Have you tried your luck with him too? ;)

Eric, when are you going to stop lol-ing and give us some answers? You have all these women desperate for a bit of attention and all you do is smile? I am afraid that is not enough... we need more!
    Don't we girls?

    ReplyDelete
  54. We do!
    Anne, you are excellent!
I haven't tried my luck, no I am too shy for it! And actually, I don't know if Eric is shy or not. He keeps his mystery on PDP but I thought your sentence was very clever! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  55. he he we DO need more. Eric is just TOO silent! His lovely face shines out but says so little.

So you're here with me, in England, Anne! Where? (you can say roughly if you don't want to pinpoint) - so really you and i are on an equal footing huh. Well obviously i have a bit more of a chance, i meant geographically of course... ;) !

    ReplyDelete
  56. I live in Kent and work in Central London. I often visit Paris as I have a lot of friends there.

    ReplyDelete
  57. So... on the subject of Eric how many contenders are there really?

    ReplyDelete
  58. So not so close to me then.

Well! Let's see. Me, there's .....me, me, and oh me again! he he. In addition, there's you, Anne, there's Monica, Phx, Pont Girl? Platonic Petrea...anyone i've forgotten? We all want Eric. In the most decent way possible of course.

    ReplyDelete
  59. There is also Camille who asked if he made house calls. Then there is Rose who wanted to eat Eric (I am convinced that was Freudian slip) and one or two anonymes... Guille is a little too young for him so let's rule her out.
If Petrea is in the competition I reckon she is our stronger competitor together with Monica (Brazilian girls are always trouble!)

    ReplyDelete
  60. You girls may live closer to Eric, much much closer than I do. But then again so far I´m the only one who made the effort to actually go to Paris and meet him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously if I lived that close to Paris I´d be there in a sec. Well, Anne seems to go there often. Do tell us Anne next time you go, we will love to hear all about it.

Lynn, this time Michael really is in Bali. Lucky him.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Monica I am so glad you are far away. We would not stand a chance against if you lived in Europe.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I really feel insulted. Yesterday Anne implied I was in the race for Eric's heart since I asked him if he made house calls. I ONLY desire his talents as a great photographer. I have a collection of "estampes" which need to be photographed. These estampes are very difficult to photographed since they are hanged in a very dark boudoir. I feel strongly Eric would be the one to actually give me the pleasure to do it. I need an artiste with a sensitive soul - the color of the purple dress - a purple soul individual. And this can only be done after midnight, so it would not interfere with Eric's schedule. He seems the PERFECT man.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Quite, Anne. That Monica is certainly one step ahead of us. Look how pretty she is too. Mind you, so is Guille and age doesn't put off ANY man, in my experience ;) Anne i think we are staunch allies you and i in England, we must stick together close. Er... not too close though. Get behind me.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oops sorry, Camille... to be honest I am so glad that you are not interested in Eric that way.

Where is Rose? I hope I didn't manage to upset her too!
Lynn, you are right about Monica she is very good looking!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Psst Anne, read between the lines on Camille's piece. I think she's in line with us. Don't tell anyone.

Rose yes! She's another platonic one i think but we all need to watch her. lol.

Eric, join in the fun, come on here and tell us what you think and how much you prefer my comments out of everyone's and how i have the best chance...go on, do! - (i bet he doesn't even know we're still back here banging on about him he he)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Anne
Freudian slip...puff..You didn't offend me :) Quite the opposite, I find you funny and silly in the most delightable way.

I'm on Monica's side though. She is very clever, beautiful, interesting and has such a great sense of humour. (And she is not as pushy as you, hehehe)

Monica get some time off and come to stay in my house. You will be able to commute to Paris because I live 15 minutes from the Eurostar Station which is less than 2 hours from Paris! :)

    ReplyDelete
  67. "Monica get some time off and come to stay in my house. You will be able to commute to Paris because I live 15 minutes from the Eurostar Station which is less than 2 hours from Paris! :)"

2 hours AND 15 minutes too late compared to us who live in the HEART of [Eric] Paris.

...And then you'll be so out of breath, by the time you get here...

Hope you do not get stuck in the middle of the tunnel. Oh my God what a horrible thought!

On the other hand Eric needs to take a break and photograph England. Where could he stay?

    Thinking out loud...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Surely you all good looking ladies must have heard of time-sharing...

    ReplyDelete
  69. Camille...you are wicked!

Lynn, are you saying that flooded Cheltenham is a nicer place than Canterbury? Puff!!! You are looking for trouble, girl!

Eric, let me be the first one to invite you to visit England. I'm the best cook amongst all these women, I have free tickets to all museums and castles in the area and I don't speak French so it will be a great opportunity for you to practice your perfect English ;)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Dah...Sorry Lynn. I mistook Camille's comments for yours...she does sound a lot like you!

    ReplyDelete
  71. The man who mistook his wife for a hat.
    Confused Rose?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Wicked? You should see my "négligé"...

    ReplyDelete
  73. Rose I´m flattered!! Well of course you have to be on my side, brazilians unite!
I love the invitation, staying at your house would be my pleasure. Wouldn´t it be fun too?!

Hey girls, I´ve taken the London-Paris ride before, I know how it works and I had no problems with the tunnel. So watch out, Rose´s invitation is a powerful weapon for me!!!
    ;-)

(Lynn I´m sure by now Eric is scared. He´s probably taking us for a bunch of crazy ladies with too much time on their hands)

    ReplyDelete
  74. Very! But I promise you it is nothing to do with visual agnosia. It is just plain paranoia mixed with i-should-not-be-here-in-working-hours case.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Dans le dictionnaire ROBERT, il y a une belle définition de négligé:
C'est dans l'abandon du négligé qu'elle est vraiment ravissante.

    Monsieur Robert must know me...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Monica, you would be very welcome in my place.

Poor Eric! I wonder when he is going to start moderating the comments in here...hehehe...

We must start a fan club zone.

    ReplyDelete
  77. The Brazilians are coming, the Brazilians are coming...!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wow, amazing what a lovely dress does to women :) Beautiful colour so couture... I've been reading the comments, great blog Eric. I've followed it on and off for a few years. De tres belles photos.

Un beau bonjour de Toronto en Ontario, Canada.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Oh my, you all are shameless. I go to sleep for a few little hours and what have you done? You've gone wild.

I shall have to come to Europe soon and hang out with you.

I think it was Lynn who said men don't care about a woman's age. Certainly French men don't. Some American men do, but only those who don't know better.

Anne: thanks for thinking of me as a strong competitor. I take it as a compliment, but I officially declare myself NOT part of the contest. I'm an "ERIC SAFE ZONE."

In fact, Eric, you should come to Los Angeles where Pont Girl and I can keep you safe.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Rose,
You spent 360 and some Euros for a poor meal in Venice, imagine what you can have for the same amount here in Paris!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Shameless and Wicked, you ladies know me to the core!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Camille
That is a nice dress but unfortunately I would be lucky if I fitted my arms in it let alone the rest of me. As for the meal... well it was a complete disappointment!
And who are you? I am curious now! Aren't we all everyone?

    ReplyDelete
  83. "And who are you? I am curious now! Aren't we all everyone?"
A press release shall soon be released...

    ReplyDelete
  84. You are competiting to Eric's attention, and I don't care what you say!
    Luckily, I declared myself out...
    Good luck girls :)

    ReplyDelete
  85. he he do you think that Camille... could be...Michael???? You think? lol !!!! I wouldn't put it past him.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Michael? Is he good looking?
    Gone to work!
    'll be back next week.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Lynn I think Camille is a she, besides Michael is far far away and yes Camille he is good looking!

    ReplyDelete
  88. Oh yes he's verrrrry good looking Camille - but i was there first! Get in line. lol.

I still think it's Michael; it's also very typical of Michael to suddenly announce he has to go to work, since he has a very busy job and he's gone; pff! Then, he's back. We shall see.... Hi Michael darling!

    ReplyDelete
  89. Of course, Lynn...
    You smart cookie!
    Now we know...how cheeky!

    ReplyDelete
  90. Lynn you are very smart. Now I´m wondering if it is Michael. But the link Camille provided is a bit confusing.

Michael did tell me he was going to be in Bali. I expect him to be enjoying the sun at the beach and not in the comments boxes of PDP!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Lynn is VERY smart but she is NOT Inspector Maigret!:)
Elle n'est pas non plus Sherlock Holmes, mais elle est très sympa. Nous l'aimons toutes.

    ReplyDelete
  92. But Rose had a point, if this little fun takes away from Eric's great effort, then I will call an end to this mischievous episode. Au revoir les amies! Wiping some tears...

    ReplyDelete
  93. Camille. Micaell. ;)

I have to say this was BRILLIANT of lynn, but NO GO! Sad. Still deserves a prize...

    ReplyDelete
  94. Oh my goodness, not only is that a marvellous photo, but you will never guess? I HAD a dog just like that!!! It is a Briard. Ohhhhhhhh THANK you for my prize! Camille, Michael, whoever you are he he thanks! I adore it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. My goodness i'm quite stunned. What made you choose this photo? One hardly sees Briards around.

    ReplyDelete
  96. This is a recorded message. Camille was last seen at the edge of the Internet. A witness saw her jump. We will no longer be able to take inquiries about Camille. Peace and be well.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Okay then. So. Let's move laterally. Where can we find that witness? lol.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Camille
Your secret is safe with me...
And I promise never ever tell anyone which country you are, or the name of your town or even the name of the network you used to log on the net today...
    Brownie promise!
    xxx

    ReplyDelete
  99. Very nice..but do you have it in "Chartreuse"????

    ReplyDelete
  100. Eric, I just love the outfit and wish I were young enough to wear it and get away with it! Unfortunately I'm not but I can enjoy the spectacle anyway. If I were 21, I would adore wearing this.

    ReplyDelete
  101. wow, that's a gorgeous dress! I would sooo wear it!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  102. I must earn a lot of money, because my gf want to go to Paris to shopping :(.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Ahhhhhhh...my very favorite shade of pink. It makes me feel alive. So gorgeous, thanks for the peek at this girly girl dress.
    Carolyn, A Jersey Girl

    ReplyDelete
  104. Wow.....I have this Dress.. But Just a different style.. Im going to list it on Ebay.. The dress is beautiful and has such great on color... Beautiful
