Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I did meet Manu and Smitha, the young couple that moved you - us - so much these days. Where did I meet them? Well, I'm sure you can easily guess from the background of this photo... No wonder Manu did all this for his future wife; she's absolutely adorable. Anyway, they promised they would post something on PDP when they return to DC (that is where they're from), that is today Sunday. I wish them a very happy life - and thank them for the delicious macarons from La maison du chocolat they offered me!

Eric, so you've become a fairy godfather. Great!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on my list of dreams yet-to-come-true and will email you as soon as it is ready. But you can start by finding me a handsome french boy to pose with in front of Arc de Triumphe!!!
Hmm.. Eric, while you're at it...
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet couple! Best wishes for a happy life together!
ReplyDeleteI love this photo because you can tell they are so adorably in love. May they live a very happy life together,
ReplyDeleteHow concrete it is! Their love irradiates ! WOW...
ReplyDeleteEric, you witness it so well : visible, real, sunny, smiling, obvious...
Monica, you made me laugh with your "list of dreams yet-to-come-true" and "start by finding me a handsome french boy to pose with in front of Arc de Triumphe".
Funny and clever :)
Manu and Smitha congratulations on your engagement! I do hope you'll share more about your trip to Paris with all of us when you get back to DC. We just love your story; and that Eric captured a little bit of it for us. You're big celebrities now!
ReplyDeleteSmitha!
ReplyDeleteSmitha!
Smitha!
(Thanks for the idea, Suzie.) Lovely photo. Absolutely perfect.
By the way, 36 days...
phx_cdg: did you put in for the Paris route during 5-14 May period? You promised!
And, hey, Lucio Crispino, are you up for a gathering? Guille? Who am I forgetting? (I know Michael will party, and Eric if he's not too busy.)
Hooray - we finally get to see the happy ending, or beginning as it were! Congratulations to the happy couple - wishing you many years of joy and bliss!
ReplyDeleteLovely story. Gorgeous young couple. Merci, Eric.

Wonderful!! Smitha is very blessed to have such a man to think so highly of her and do such romantic things for her.
ReplyDeleteAnd Manu and Smitha are very blessed to have such wonderful memories captured by such a friend as you, Eric.
Blessings on all today!!
Eric ~ I've been following along with this romantic story. You were so lucky to part of it and did a fabulous job capturing the special moment. Congratulations to Manu and Smitha and to you for a job well done!
ReplyDeleteHey where's Michael? Where's Guille? Where's Eric? I seem to recall Michael inviting the two of them for a drink this weekend. Michael have you stolen Guille?!
ReplyDeleteThey are such a beautiful couple, I hope their life together will be just as beautiful~~~~
ReplyDeleteI'm changing the subject but we can all come back.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to do what Tall Gary taught us and make a link to this little blurb on The Paris Blog because you all want to read it. It's about the Lady's Hat.
Hope it works, but if it doesn't: theparisblog.com.
Jeff: You have no idea how much I'd like to be there in May, but my current semester doesn't wind up until the beginning of June. (I am currently looking at travelling on a round the world ticket, taking in Europe and the US, during the four weeks which straddle the middle of the year.) If, for some reason, this doesn't eventuate, I have a twelve month residency in Paris (2009 or 2010) to look forward to. Perhaps, down the track, we could plan a gathering while I am based in Paris.
ReplyDeleteMY best wishes to the lovely couple, and bravo Eric for granting Manu's wish..
ReplyDeleteIt was a nice romantic week on PdP..
Hey, what's with The Paris Blog's "comments closed" on their post about the Serero Architect's design?...Cheeky!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention, scroll down on the Paris blog. There's another piece further along where you can blink to the blogger (The Bold Soul) and comment away.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture! They look so wonderfully happy!
ReplyDeleteI can only hope that I'll be this happy when I'm in Paris this May...
We wish them a happy life as well and look forward to hearing their comments on their return home.
ReplyDeleteEric, you had better save some macaroons for Monica. Else you'll be dans le grand ennui.
Congrats to the lovely couple.Agreee with everyone very sweet and how genuine do they look.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the follow up photo, not expecting that, which why i keep coming back here. Not just for Paris, but for the quality of the pics and that littel bit extra thrown in.
MICHAEL! No I did not forget! June 8-25th I will be there without jetlag and wanted to meet then. If it doesn't work out, I will be in Paris April 3rd,15 and 21st with jetlag. Write me!!!
ReplyDeleteI would like to bring a little romance into the blog about how I met Mr.PHX. I went to wait for a LONDON WALK tour at the Embankment underground in London. It said to meet at the Thames side exit, and under the one big hanging tree that is still there was Mr. PHX talking to another WOMAN. I could tell they were waiting for the London Walk and they let me join the conversation. They weren't together, but at the end of Edward Petherbridge's Theaterland Walk, we WERE. If you ever take his tour, he mentions the couple that met on his Walk and eventually got married. MONICA: there is a company affiliated with them called PARIS WALKS. Bon Chance!!!
Eric - thank you for keeping us up to date with this story. The story of Manu and Smitha has got to be the all-time favorite on your PDP!
ReplyDeleteLouis la Vache sends Manu and Smitha his very best wishes and congratulations!
Bravo Eric!
ReplyDeletePerfect - except how about a shot of the ring? Best wishes to Manu & Smitha and thanks for letting us share your happiness.
ReplyDelete"But you can start by finding me a handsome french boy to pose with in front of Arc de Triumphe!!!" Same for me, but make mine a MAN;)
It's a wonderful story and thanks for sharing it with us.. you're a great guy for making this part of their magic happen!
ReplyDeleteP.S. A big Hi back to Petra and Lynn from yesterday's pix.
ReplyDeletePHX, I like your love story.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the photograph I knew it was THEM! And of course that she'd said YES. What a handsome couple they are - love where you posed them.
ReplyDeleteI wish them the happiest of lives. Made my day, this photo, Eric.
Amazing what you can accomplish with a camera and a good heart! Congrats to the two! You're helping with the memories, Eric...and getting paid in "macarons" too. Not bad, my man!
ReplyDeleteThis photo makes for a much more satisfying remembrance for the lucky (for having found each other) "Parisian" couple; and for us who can see more clearly the pair that we would like to send wishes for the greatest happiness (or as time eventually takes its toll on the relationship - the kindest tolerance).
ReplyDelete"aimer qn de tout son coeur" ahhhhh
ReplyDeleteSo, Eric I noticed that they did to you an expensive present from La maison du chocolat!!
ReplyDelete;))
You deserved it 100% Eric. We all owe you something for all these moments you offer to us through this blog.
This one I consider that it was one of the greatest moments of this blog.
My special and warmest wishes to Manu and Smitha to be always so happy, so in love and always to accomplish all of their wishes.
Phx that's it.
ReplyDeleteIf PARIS WALKS doesn't do the trick, I'm heading to London!!!
Corinne that way I see it, Eric can do just about anything, so it doesn't hurt to try and send him my list...!
M.Benaut!!! I think Eric totally deserves his macarons, but indeed the mention of it made me crave for some.
Lynn I guess Michael must be flying over some ocean somewhere... but WHERE is Guille???
ReplyDeleteMon Dieu..the things you will do for Macarons Eric!! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteVery sweet...and you are right, she is adorable. What a happy couple and how kind of you to add to their happiness..."what the world needs now...is L*VE sweet Love..." Merci Dionne...! ;-)
And now we get a photo of the gorgeous couple, to add to the story - thanks Eric, and I hope they are wonderfully happy together!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to the happy couple and to Eric for being part of their lives and new beginnings. Remember these days Manu and Smitha for they shall get you through the bad days.
ReplyDeletePHX-CDG, I think you mean Jeff. He's the organiser, but I'll be there if I can.
ReplyDeleteGuille didn't respond to my request so don't know what's happened to her Monica. Probably out interviewing for your request.
What a beautiful story!
ReplyDeleteManu and Smitha remind me of two Indian friends of mine, who already are married and live in DC too! Feels like the world is so small all of a sudden...
Great picture and story today Eric thanks!
ReplyDeleteI apologise for this "mass comment" but I could do with your help today over at South Shields Daily Photo. Help promote the rights of photographers!
