Enough cold and rain!
Don't get fooled by the ray of sun that you can see in this photo, it's actually pretty cold and rainy these days in Paris... The only positive aspect is that it gave me the opportunity to take this photo while I was crossing the Seine to go back home. If you blow it up, you'll see the Grand Palais in the background (on the right), pretty spectacular with the light passing through it. My only concern is that this bad weather stops right before the PDP Picnic on May 13; I want heat and sun!

Here's hoping it all clears up and you have a gorgeous sunny day for le pique-nique! Meanwhile, bad weather but beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteNice capture of the Grand Palais. The ray of sun isn't fooling me, that is one moody looking photo. There will be heat and sun on the 13th. I have spoken! Or it will snow! ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S. My predictions haven't always been correct.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo! I love the sun spots and the transparency of the Grand Palais.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some warmth and sun soon!! I'll take Paris, rain or shine.
Oh it's just beautiful! Like Suzy, whatever the weather, Paris is full of sun.
ReplyDelete*^_^*
ReplyDeleteThis is magic!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Eric. Brings back great memories!
ReplyDeleteDon't we all!! (At least those of us in northern climes that have had much cold weather of late!) This is a gorgeous picture, Eric. I love the sunbeams coming through the clouds and the colors on the water and in the sky are lovely. Thank you for sharing it!
ReplyDeletevery nice shot!!
ReplyDeleteMove the picnic indoors, at the Grand Palais! :)
Lovely sunset, Eric. I see just a bit of blue sky and love the reflection in the water.
ReplyDeleteI like the photo, tho its too bad you have to put up with the bleak weather that's created it. You've made a silk purse out of a sow's ear, though.
ReplyDeleteI'll cross all my fingers though for wonderful, perfect weather for you all for the picnic. Oh, you have no idea how much I wish I could be there!!
Eric, this is just to tell you for the millionth time, because you deserve to keep hearing it over and over, that you are a wonderful person for creating PDP and for being so faithful to all of us who benefit from your love of your beautiful city.
Lovely Eric! I appreciate the variety in your photos. One day a cup, another day legs, today sunlight on the Seine. Is this taken on that pedestrian bridge near the Tuleries? Or do I have my direction off? I hope you have good weather for the picnic!
ReplyDeleteI have been talking daily with Paris and everyone seems to share your opinion. Today I was told that May is suppose to be a good month in Paris, weather wise that is. BTW, this is a lovely photo, and does that river look COLD or what? My teeth chatter just looking at it. The sky looks like it is trying to clear. Maybe this is the last rain for a while.
ReplyDeleteBlowing you California sunshine.
I'm sorry to tell you that it will be rainy in Paris most of next week. Then, on Friday and Saturday 8 and 9 of May, it will get sunny. By the 13th it will be absolutely lovely weather. Have I ever failed to bring good weather to Paris for a picnic? Please, have some faith!
ReplyDeleteThis view of Pont des Arts and Grand Palais is one of the best in the city at sunset. Your photo captures the Grand Palais quite well.
Beautiful. Cool and alluring. Love it.

Wow! I love this! Thanks for all the love you put into this work.

Great photo. I love how the buildings are silhouetted and the water has a nice sheen to it.
ReplyDeleteI'd still rather be in Paris when it's cold than in California when it's hot.
Lovely photo ! Rain or shine - Paris is always beautiful. But YES we want heat and sun for the picnic !
ReplyDeleteso lovely--i hope it warms up for my visit in a couple weeks, but i also enjoy the rain :)
ReplyDeleteReally striking photo, Eric! You are right about the light passing through the Grand Palais -- spectacular indeed.
ReplyDeleteAnd I cannot resist saying that I would be glad to be in Paris in ANY weather ... Oh, and if only I could attend the PDP picnic! Sigh ...
Great posts as everything you deal with!!!! You are my master and I hope you don't mind ;)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! And full of promise.

ReplyDeleteAh, I predict lovely sunshine for your picnic! No worries :-)
ReplyDeleteAn oh btw we are sharing the cold and it may even rain a bit over the next few days here in San Francisco. I too have had enough!
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, I just found out our finance minister (Christine Lagarde) was on the daily Show with Jon Stewart a few days ago.
ReplyDeleteWatch!
Thanks for the link, Eric!
ReplyDeleteThere's beautiful sunset sky in Paris as I'm typing. I hope you are out there capturing it!
Another classic, Eric.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteIn Cracow we're waiting for some rain... but not today, tommorow or sunday. Now we have holidays ;)
God, I love Paris....
