I know, I've showed you Le Pont Alexandre III many times already, but never with this sky (it's a real sky!)and never from this angle ;-) So here you go... I took this photo 2 days ago, when the sky was much less inviting than today, around 9 pm (it gets dark earlier now...). The Pont Alexandre III was built between 1896 and 1900 for the world exhibit of 1900. It is named after Tsar Alexander III, who concluded the Franco-Russian Alliance in 1892, and it's his son, Nicholas II, who laid the foundation stone in October 1896. It's a magnificent bridge; if you come to Paris, you have to see it!

"It's a magnificent bridge" and it's a magnificent photo! One for the calendar, Eric.
ReplyDelete;-)
DeletePhoto superbe Eric! J'adore le ciel!
ReplyDeleteMerci ! Oui j'ai eu de la chance avec le ciel...
DeleteEric,
ReplyDeleteFor me, I love your photos, but I love your commentary just as much. I never get tired of the Tour Eiffel because 1) it IS beautiful and 2) you say something different every time you show it. You could probably show the same five things over and over (okay, from different angles, as you did here) and I would probably keep "gobbling" them up because I adore your words as well. However, I'm not turning my nose up at the fact that you insist on taking photos all over Paris. It is truly wonderful. I have learned so much about Paris and about France from your posts.--Sara
Awwwwwwwwwww. That is very nice to hear that (the funny thing is that I learned a lot about Paris too LOL).
DeleteThis is often my first choice when I need to close my eyes and "go to a happy place" to relax. For me it is number two in terms of the best places on the planet Earth. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI should try that to relax ;-)
DeleteGorgeous! As you are still with us, I assume that you got out of the way of those approaching cars in time.
ReplyDeleteLOL. No... Someone picked up my camera while the undertaker was carrying me and posted it ;-)
DeleteWoW Eric
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture for your calendar. August or September :-)
Will do!
DeleteIn a word, WOW! You sure did put the famous perspective to excellent use here, Eric! (And lived to tell the tale, I'm happy to see.)
ReplyDelete"And lived to tell the tale" beautiful expression!
DeleteAbsolutely stunning!
