So... Despite the situtation in Paris - and France in general - is improving a little, I think it is time to think of something more cheerful... Hence Christmas! The lights and displays are already in place in most of the shops and I chose to show you the ones of Galeries lafayette. Very cute! The kids just love them.
woaw, i am away 3 weeks and i come back with a zillion pictures to see. will try to update my records later on. in any case, keep it up, man. these are great !
ReplyDeleteEric - This is too weird. I posted an entry about the beginning of the Holiday season too on my blog today! Wow. What a great display!
ReplyDeleteLes grands esprits...
ReplyDeletea little girl drinking champagne from the bottle... that is christmas spirit!
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, the Grands Magasins (e.g. Galeries Lafayette) also build a boardwalk so the little children can see the show better. Needless to say that, on week-ends preceeding Xmas, there are long waiting lines to get on the boardwalks. Great souvenirs for all grown up Parisians!
ReplyDeleteJM-
Can't seem to remember the boardwalks anymore but do I ever remember the windows!!! Good memories, indeed.
ReplyDeleteThese toys sure look like they're having fun! :-)
:) consistently excellent.
ReplyDeleteBlog fort interessant, avec toujours de belles et originales images.
ReplyDeleteCompliments.
(But I don't speak english du tout..)
Oh! What a lovely photo. I just found your website today and now I am obsessed, you are an amazing photographer... with an amazing subject, of course :)
ReplyDeleteMust stop commenting now so I can catch up on your archives!
Eric,
ReplyDeleteLove this photo. Especially the doll with the champagne bottle. I am sure in the States someone would find fault with it, but it is great! I always read Elisabeth's blog on my lunch and then I look at yours. How odd that you both have the Christmas theme today. I have my __ days till Christmas sign up in the department here at work. It is the first thing I do when I come in every morning. If I don't update it, someone reminds me. Thanks for the photo and for the happy seasonal feelings it conveys.
I'm glad you didn't post one of the crazed, green patchwork squirrels running in a circle (that one scared me!)
ReplyDeleteOf course, I may have it wrong, as I only caught a glimpse over the heads of many delighted children, which is what I wanted to see anyway.
I am enjoying your view of our shared city, so thanks! But for some reason, your photos don't make it through to Bloglines (though mine do, and I subscribe to myself to check.) I am also on Blogger. Don't know what's up with that.
Keep posting! I am enjoying your pictures very much!
I'm not sure if I didn't pay attention in the past or it's true, but I find this years' display quite nice and if I might say "Happy". Sometimes they get a bit bizarre and creative, but this year just seems more joyful and pleasant. Maybe it's just what I'm looking for at the end of 2005! Great pic (as usual!).
ReplyDeleteMerci pour les photos!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed a lot!
