Juggling the heat
With the raging heat in Paris right now, people spend more time outside than in (you know we don't have much air conditioning here...). I came across this juggler in the gardens at Les Halles in front of Saint Eustache, and he seemed to be taking advantage of a captive audience getting relief from the sun. If only he could juggle the rain clouds a bit... To know more about juggling in Paris or somewhere near you, check out the Internet Juggling Database.

Bonjour, Eric!
ReplyDeleteHehe, je suis la première à écrire le commentaire!
La chaleur c'est affreux :(
Vive la pluie! :)
Great photo, Eric!
ReplyDeleteToday I saw the coolest thing that is quite similar on the terrace of Café de France at Place d'Italie--a Dad was blowing his cigarette smoke into bubbles for his son, who would then chase and catch them, and watch the puff of smoke raise from his hands as the soap bubble burst--it was so beautiful! (A strange thing to say for cigarette smoke!) Wish I had my camera.
mrs. b,
ReplyDeletei'm in paris this weekend and i was at Place d'Italie this afternoon! what a coincidence...isn't the weather amazing?
Wonderful picture, great it's in one of my favourite places in Paris... I love the statue in front of St. Eustache and Les Halles gardens and all that.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for picking out such a cute guy... =)
Two days in a row...Scottish boy lives directly across Les Halles park from Saint Eustache. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the heat in Paris. I know what it's like to be hot with no A/C. We have no A/C at the school where I teach, so when it's hot outside, it's even hotter inside. Pretty yucky! Here in Toronto it's pretty hot too at the moment, only most homes do have A/C. It felt like 40 degrees celcius with the humidity yesterday, so I didn't leave my house all day. I cleaned my house top to bottom instead. What a difference with people in Paris! Here we hide in our cool homes during heat waves, until it's cool enough to go outside again. Hope things cool off in your side of the world :) Thanks for the wonderful picture!
ReplyDeleteGreat picture...but don't complain about the heat it's cold enough all year...and rain we've got plenty of that...happy sunday...
ReplyDeleteFabulous photo! Sorry about the heat...it's hot in Utah, too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like he's juggling glass balls, is that correct?
ReplyDelete"La chaleur c'est affreux"…
ReplyDeleteL'A/C c'est pire !!! for it burns energy and makes it hotter outside to make it cooler inside !
Well, I agree with the commenters who complain about the heat. There is such thing as "too much of a good thing." A heat wave in Paris is fine if you're outside in Jardin des Tuileries or some place else just like it sitting on the grass with your shoes off and feet preferably in water, but for everybody else having to go into the subway, or stay indoors and work without A/C, or even for the tourists trying to walk around the city, well, maybe a temperature of between 90 and 100 Farenheit (with humidity) is a little much ...
