A Ministry with a view

Yesterday morning (Wednesday) I attended a presentation of the new blog of Anne-Marie Idrac, the French Minister in charge of foreign trade at the Ministry of Finance, also referred to as "Bercy", because it is located in an area precisely called Bercy! It's a magnificent building, very modern and very impressive, on the edge of La Seine. The presentation took place on the 7th floor and you know me... While I was waiting for the Minister, I took my camera and started shooting! It's not every day that you get to overlook Paris from that part of town.

As I'm drinking my tea before starting to be really awake (waking myself takes me quite a long time, I know!) I'll just ditto Monica... I love this blue. I need it too.

  15. Thanks for the photo Eric. It brings back memories of taking the Metro line 5 from Place d'Italie to the right bank and of ice skating in Bercy the first week of December.

In this photo, I feel like Paris is just laid out in front of me.

  16. Glad you took the opportunity. Lovely. Just been hearing that Sarkozy's attempt to knock um Dominic? out of his way has failed. So - more sparks will fly as this opponent re-enters the boxing ring?

  18. They actually wasted taxpayer's money to present a blog? What's next, a Facebook presentation?

A bientôt.

  21. «Louis» knows exactly where this building is. He attended Ècole Boulangerie et Pâtisserie de Paris, also located in Bercy.

The building looks like a Galactic Battle Cruiser. Part of it is over the freeway that takes you to suburbs like Villecresnes, Mandres-les-Roses, Brie-Compte-Robert, etc. Every time «Louis» passed under that part of the building over the freeway, he imagined the Battle Cruiser over head sucking his wallet out of his pocket and emptying it of Euros....
