Code red!
After yesterday's lady in red here is the lady on a red background! And the background in question belongs to Uniqlo, a Japonese clothing company, similar to H&M or Zara. They opened their second store near the Galerie Lafayette in October 2009 and that is precisely from the 1st floor of one of their outlet (the Lafayette Maison one) that I took this photo. I just loved the game of shadows that was offered to my eyes - and to my camera lense!

Ohh...first comment! And a cool photo. I love H&M , so I will definitely have to check it out next time. Miss you! Anne
ReplyDeleteI could not pronounce it correctly until I was told it was short for unique clothing , sort of like uniqueKlo.
ReplyDeletesexy picture!
We have Uniqlo here in NYC as well, and I find it more similar to the Gap in quality (the clothes are very well made and classically casual) while being very reasonably priced.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting shot...really interesting; however if it is anything like the Gap as Katie K said...I'll take a pass.
ReplyDeleteThe shot is great, it has a "science fiction" quality, i think!
ReplyDeleteI remember when the new store across from the Opera Garnier first opened...the lines of people waiting to enter wrapped around the block. Jil Sander's line of cashmere, wool & leather goods are very popular. What a wonderful photo, Eric! Thank you kindly.
ReplyDeleteGreat effect Eric. Very well spotted! I'll try to remember to visit, if I can remember the name. Those Japanese - I wonder how they came up with that one. Probably cost millions though.
ReplyDeleteThe mention of Zara and GAP reminded of the time 5 or 6 years ago when my suitcase got lost at CDG.
ReplyDeleteI bought some replacement clothes at both on Rue de Rivoli as I didn't think the insurance company would stump up for a couple of Armani suits!
They could have called it JAP.
Very seductive. You draw us right in with this and ask us to stop and study a moment.
ReplyDeleteIn a red mood, Eric? This is really visually stunning. My fashion "sense" is really not much for the Gap, but I would check it out. Shopping is always fun!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, le rouge et le noir! Vvery cool photo, Eric.
ReplyDelete(And now I'll have to check out the Uniqlo store here in NYC.)
F. Y. I. Tout Le Monde: the name comes from an amalgam of Unique Clothing....Uniqlo!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I wish there were 8,481 benches in my town, but then again, unfortunately my town is not a walking/shmoozing/flaneur kind of town. Right now, my area of town is begging for more sidewalks. Rats!
